UKATC October Monthly Swap

I used some wallpaper for this months swap cards.

I added some glitter glue - the dried on desk type - and a sentiment which I edged with purple ink.  Using a cotton bud with ink I coloured the background slightly and added some Flower Soft.  Edging the sides with the purple inkpad completed the look.

I applied the same method to this card but only added ink to accentuate the blossoms.  The fabric sentiment came in one of my Personal Shopper packages from approx 8 years ago!!!

I added some black ribbon diagonally across the paper and then stamped a corner emblem in the top right.  I used a half plastic flower along the lower edge, adding a daisy and then colouring the centre with a gold gelpen.  I rather like this monochrome effect.

My return swaps came in:-

These first two cards had the tiniest film strips I have ever seen.

The third one had the best sentiment on!!!

Thank you Mel

These ATCs are what I aspire to.  I have done some research and hope to create something like these - wonderful!  I love them.

UKATC October Colour - Bronze

Bronze ... Copper ... Brown .....

One of my packaging ATCs, one with gold daisies will be just right for this I think.  I didn't make it with this swap in mind but there you go ....

I found some foil sheets in one of my baskets so I sorted a couple of stencils out and did some rubbing.

This first one reminded me of an African Tribal Mask, I kept the background plain.

I decided the next stencil would be totally different, Piglet, Tigger or Pooh?!?

Tigger it was - well, he is orange which is a sort of Bronze!  I gently striped the background using a pointed embosser.

My return swaps came in -

Beautiful heat embossed fashion on a script background.
Thank you Barbara

A 'bronze' coin and a beautiful flower made me smile.
Thank you Judith

Gorgeous orange flowers on a glittered and coppered background.
Thank you June

Packaging ATCs

Never throw packaging out .................words I have used on numerous occasions but my DH heard them .......... at least once!!!
When the parcel was delivered, he showed me the packaging and suggested I would be able to use it on some way........... I thought ATC.

The packaging 'au nature'l is on the left.  I used double sided tape on a base and then added the packaging, using three bases in a line and then snipped them apart.

I covered all three bases with brown acrylic paint and left to dry. Using yellow and some gold paint I tried some free hand painting, covering just the larger areas of the packaging and put to one side to dry.

Meanwhile I sorted some stencils out and decided I would use the flowers so I stencilled some yellow flowers on the first ATC.  Success.  Onto number two ....... finding a kit 'donated' by my daughter, I stencilled a butterfly and some daisies in gold.  I stencilled a blue rose onto the top corner of the third stencil and put them all to dry.  The next day I added some pieces of dried glue to the surface to the butterfly and some of the glitter dried glue to the free hand ATC.

More ATCs were made and then painted in the primary colours and green ...... the only colours I had in this type of paint.  It is a matt paint but I didn't realise until it had dried!!

I used various stencils and the colours available in N's kit.  I still have some plain ones to finish ......... in fact I don't really know how I will finish them .......... no doubt the idea will come to me in the middle of the night!!!

Since this picture was taken I have clear varnished three of them to add a bit of shine.
