I am setting up ready to make some more ATCs - guess the colour!!
I have opened up my boxes of ribbons and embellishments, selected some along with some cream papers.  I have cut the papers to size and am just trying different embellishments on the cards.
Please note that the empty mug was a birthday gift to me from PJ .....
PJ who is getting better by the day, Praise God.
Thank you all again for all your Prayers, good wishes and visits to my Blog last week.
I hope to visit as many Blogs as possible this week...... see you all later.....

Update!!!    It is 14.50hrs and we are in the middle of a hail/snow storm, it is very dark and, if it were not for the leaves on the trees, I would think it was December.  This has been pouring down for five mins ..... aaah! I forgot ..... this is Spring with April Showers!!  lol

March Theme Swap - Spring

I printed out these pictures some time ago, then coloured them while babysitting round at Little Soldier's house.  I used watercolour pencils hoping that I could finish the images with a brush of water.
I covered some base cards with a very pale blue paper which had white bird silhouettes printed over it.
I fussy cut the first two pictures before attaching them to the backgrounds, and then 'painted' up the images with water.  I stamped the sentiment in green.  Not all the sentiment came out so I 'cleaned' it with a green fine liner pen.

One part of spring that I love is when the daffodils come into flower, so I had to add a bunch of daffs.
I used a promarker to help with the colour on this image, then rounded the corners, attached it to the background and then rounded the corners of the card.
I stamped the sentiment with a bright green ink this time.

I received the following cards:

Definitely Springish!
Thank you Barbara.

Such a lot of work here.
Thank you Kate.

Super silver butterfly.
Thank you Pat.

WOYWW #411

What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday - if you want to find out more then checkout the WOYWW tab at the top of the page - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting this weekly meet up......... AND .....thank you for all your kind get well wishes for PJ.

Give Glory unto God for a discovery and healing!
PJ is back home, very weak, breathless but surviving, as am I (deets on my other Blog - Recollections).
It has been a hectic, wearying and worrying week but, Praise God, we have survived.  I won't go into PJ's diagnosis as it has not been confirmed and there could be more to deal with.  Nothing life threatening, just need time to find out and deal with it all.
I have been exhausted at the end of each day......... never really made the end ..... came home and went to bed!!  lol
BUT!
The desk ......
I did manage to finish the swaps for this month and get them ready for posting.  I am now playing with paints, stamps and papers ...... sounds good doesn't it??
So far I have used paints, stencils and Distress Inks.  When I get chance I will be stencilling a bit more, adding some stamps and then cutting to size.
That's me done then, off to look after Little Soldier at his house today for a few hours ..... see you when I get back.

March Colour Swap - Spots/Dots

I managed to find a whole packet of spotted washi tapes at 'The Works' so started off with a great stash.
I had several ideas for this swap and the tapes were a marvellous addition.

I covered a base card with spotted paper and then added some strips of pink spotted Washi Tape.
I used one of the stamps from a free set given with a magazine, and Versafine Onyx  ink to stamp across the tapes lining up the sentiment stamp with the picture.

I covered a base card with several colours of spotted Washi Tape.  Next I covered a smaller piece of white card with some multicoloured spotty tape and then diecut some balloons from this.  I attached two of the balloons flat to the card, making sure a piece of paper tape was attached behind each balloon.  I attached the third balloon with 3D foam tape, again making sure the paper tape was attached behind it.  I stamped the next sentiment with Versafine Onyx ink onto some white card, cut this card to size and rounded the corners.  I gathered the three ends and made sure they were attached close together behind the sentiment card and attached the card to the lower edge.

I covered the next card base with a spotty paper, and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx ink.
I used the fence stamp from a different set but the same ink.
I found out some tiny stamps from another set but this time used several different coloured inks to stamp the small flowers along the lower edge.

I love this card and am so pleased with all the stamps I have used, my first time of combining stamps.

I received the following cards:

Small spots and large spots!
Thank you Iona.

Small dots on colourful large dots.
Thank you Margaret.

Beautiful Butterfly on dotty background.
Thank you Philippa.

April Swap

The Style this month is Easter and I thought I would cover all the bases.
The card has to have a Cross - that's the start of Easter after all - flowers, rabbits, eggs.......
The digital image is from my stash and several years old.  I sized it to fit my ATC and then coloured it using pencils.  Once I had trimmed the image it was not regulation ATC size so I used some paint to create a background that WAS regulation size!
Where are the eggs you ask?  You have to hunt for those!!

This card is so bright, pretty and downsized from its sister Card.
Thank you ChrisN.

Not a normal Wednesday so this is short and sweet.
Here's my desk

Full of goodies received Tuesday but don't know when I will play with them, I am otherwise occupied at the moment.........

A certain gentleman was admitted to hospital on Monday ......

I doubt there will be any visits this week so I will apologise in advance, I am sure that you will all understand.
Take care and have a good week.

April Swap - Blues

DDC bought me some great stamps from Chocolate Baroque for Mothering Sunday so I am using this swap to try them out.

I sorted some blue wallpaper samples as the backgrounds for the ATCs and cut them to size.
I used Versafine Onyx ink with all the stamps.

For my first card I chose the 'fibre' background.  This paper has an almost invisible thread running across it and has a shiney finish.  I stamped one of the flowers onto the card and then added some cogs and gears across the left lower corner.
I used Promarkers to colour in the flowers and cogs then added the PC printed sentiment along the side.

For my second card I chose a slightly embossed paper but embossed the top corner using a Tim Holtz cogs embossing folder.  I stamped the butterfly from across the lower right corner and coloured it using a felt tip from my stash.  I had to try out all the colouring mediums on separate pieces of the papers .... Promarkers did not work on this paper at all.  I coloured in the wings and blotted with kitchen roll to remove some of the colour.  When all had dried I coloured the cogs etc but left the ink to dry, so that it showed darker.

This paper had ridges running vertically and did not take all the ink when stamped.  I 'touched up' the missing parts with a fine felt tip black pen.
I used Promarkers again to colour these roses, and to colour the sentiments and around the edges of each card.

I am really pleased with the way all these cards look, just love those Chocolate Baroque stamps.

these were the cards that Sid sorted for me ......

Clever white embossing, with shiny wings.
Thank you Jayne.

Stamping with a touch of glitter.
Thank you Jo.

Beautiful stamping with a touch of vellum.
                                           Thank you Lesley.

WOYWW #409

What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday - if you want to find out more then checkout the WOYWW tab at the top of the page - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting this weekly meet up.

The first week in April has arrived!  It has certainly come in with all the showers, sunshine and winds round here but the fence has survived as has the guttering.  I am writing up the story on my Recollections blog at the moment.... could take a few weeks..... I shall print out a copy and enclose it with a covering letter posted to Adams Askey then wait for the sparks to fly!!!!

But back to the desk....
I am making some cards for the April swap for one of my Groups.  The theme is Blues so I have used several papers as bases and stamped out my images.  The papers are cut from wallpaper samples so I have been trying out various pens to see which one gives the most coverage.
I am using some stamps from the sets that DDC bought me for Mothering Sunday so the cards will be all Steampunked!!!
I am really looking forward to colouring them up.

That's it for now then, short but sweet....

Thought I would leave you with some winey thoughts this week....

1     There are 2 types of people in this world:  those who like wine, and those who aren't allowed in my house.

2    Meals served without wine are rarely worth eating.

PS  I am teetotal and these thoughts are from Wine Trail Adventures.

Etegami

 I finished the Etegami card and promptly lost it . . . . . Not really . . . It disappeared into here . . . . . Along with a Dragon Card and...
