Summer of Colour - Week 3

Now we are into week 3 and have these fabulous colours to play with ...
I searched and searched on Google for inspiration and then found these paintings .... sorry but I didn't keep the name of the artist.
Then life took over and the whole Summer of Colour was missed!  But I didn't forget ..... I kept the colours and the inspiration and when I had time started back in there .... Think it was about Week 5 ......
I managed to get enough pages from my magazine to make up the flowers.  I cut all the petals freehand, I wish that I had photographed the pages first .... the lavender flower is taken from an advert for the Follies and has a stunning costumed lady.... I punched some tiny flowers in matching colours for the centre and then had to REALLY search the magazine for the sentiment!!  But I found it?!
So how did I actually make the card?
I spread Gesso over the card and left it to dry, then tapped a couple of matching inkpads sparingly over the card.  Once this was dry  I added the flowers and then spritzed the whole area with gold.  Adding the centres to the flowers and the sentiment in the top lefthand corner completed the card.

WOYWW #265 Celebration ATC .... from Ike!!!

I love this swap with Ike .... she has such a weird sense of humour and she makes me laugh soooo much......

Last year she sent me a 'different' card and I loved it so this year she came on board again ....

Sorry, I am laughing as I type ....
be serious!

These are the contents of my envelope which I received from her .... peel off snowflakes, vellum butterflies, black and white paper, tiny cards .... and my ATC!!!

Ike you have outdone yourself!

Just look at it ... it is terrifying!!!

and then you read the words .....
ho! ho! ha! ha! he! he!

Ike I am in tears!   ROFL
the image is on some sort of stiff webbing ...
ho! ho! ha! ha! he! he!

It's very cleverly done, so tidy cutting and sticking ....
ho! ho! ha! ha! he! he!
ho! ho! ha! ha! he! he!
ho! ho! ha! ha! he! he!
ho! ho! ha! ha! he! he!
Did I say thank you?
THANK YOU IKE, WONDERFUL!

UK ATC July Swap

I made these cards for the Wicked Wednesday Challenge and entered it by Mr Linky back in June.  I used the third card which was a winner ....  Now I am sending these out as my swap cards for July.  I have used almost the same text but have added the swap cards that were returned to me.

With a strip of blue/gold ribbon down the side I added a vellum 'FAMILY' so that the ducks could be seen in the state of disarray.  The other three sides were swiped through an inkpad to edge the card in the relevant colours.

I think those nephews are getting mighty sick of Donald reading .... the words say it all!  I made this card in the same way but 'touched' the ink pads over the sentiment before attaching it to the card.

I love this card!  Not just because I recycled the sentiment but because it is soooo appropriate ..... I can just hear me ....
Once again I made the card in the same way, sometimes cards just 'fall' together and these three were just like that.

UPDATED:
These are the cards I received ....

I like this as it is simple and one layer - very stylish and apt for me!  lol

This butterfly is decoupaged with a gold peel offs.

This is really pretty, highlighted with tiny peel offs by the look of it.
Thank you Margaret.

CWS June - Favourite City

Very late postings on this blog as life caught up with me and took over!  Hopefully I can catch up over the next few weeks - hopefully!!
Back to the ATCs .......

There can only be one favourite City for me ....... Paris!
I stamped up some backgrounds using nearly every stamp that depicted something Paris in blues and oranges and reds and purples on a previously created master sheet.  I used some of my Tour d'Effel diecuts and some pages from my magazines.

I gesso'd half way up this card and added a few more stamps.  The wine glass was coloured with a watercolour pencil using my waterbrush.  I then embossed the diecut  as though it had the lights up for Christmas.

I added a piece of street map using gesso and added a voucher along the lower half of the card.  When it was all dry I stamped a few more images and then added the diecut, plain and naked as when I cut it out!

I added a piece of the street map and a voucher to this card but, as I was adding a bicycle diecut, this time landscape.  I stamped as before and added a corner flourish to bring the voucher and Arc de Triomphe stamping together.  I then adhered the bicycle from Robyn's giveaway stash.
I don't think these cards need any sentiment ... they are busy and have a focal point to illustrate Paris.
Four more months and I'll be there ..... not that I am counting ...

UPDATED:
I received these beautiful cards back.

Thank you Melody for three super cards.
