WOYWW #512

If you would like to share your mess desk with like minded friends, please link up with us at Chez Julia (Stamping Ground).  There's lots of us over there, sharing all our little (or not so little) hobbies.  Come on over and join in....

Well, that has been a week I don't want to repeat!!  My laptop stopped performing on Thursday and I have spent the rest of my time (there's not much of that to spare!) trying to sort it all out.  The worst part was that I couldn't get my 'Manager' to work but, once it was up and running, it sorted all the problems out and (hopefully) we are now back to being able to work ....  I fib really ... the worst part was that I could not visit my friends and their desks!
My desk yesterday ....

.... basking in the sunshine ...

I have finished making up the card kits, well, the ones I wanted to do at the time.

I am now moving on to making up some ATCs for one of my Groups.

The Theme for this swap is Wax Crayons.
My DGSDX provided the crayons, he doesn't know as they came from one of the meals we had and then stayed in my bag.
The keen eyed among you may have noticed that they are right handed crayons but I am used to this sort of thing - I just don't read the writing!!!  lol

That's pretty much my week in a few sentences, I did manage to finish the cards -

I'll update this post when I receive my swap returns.

February Card Swaps

Noobies

Thought I would use up some papers from my stash, HundyDory in this case.

I haven't received a return swap as yet.

Colour - Red

More stash busting going on here!  Feathers, frame and ribbon bow.

My return card is beautiful, love the embossing.
Thank you Olive.

Technique - Acetate
I tried and tried to achieve the card image I had in my head but in the end I gave up but managed to produce this card.  I like it but it's not what I wanted for this swap.

A super card with such an effective Acetate panel.
Thank you JackieP.

This is a Charity Card Kit from Hope & Chances and uses Photo Mounts.  Never used mounts before, will order another one of these kits as I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together.

This card uses lots of die cuts and is many layered.  Love it.

WOYWW #511

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top to the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.

Please note the size of workspace this week!  I have had to enlarge this space as I am making up some Charity Kits which I purchased from Hope & Chances website.
I have collected several of them now and I determined to complete the kits before I bought any more!
I haven't created much this last week.  I have been worriting ..... The reason lies behind a story set in 2018(sorry DDC).
I have longed for one of those large tape runners for some time and decided that I would invest ...... DDC asked what I wanted for Christmas so I suggested this tool.  It was duly bought, unwrapped and then ...... lost in the shake up of the craftroom.
NO!
Not lost ..... merely put in a safe place!
I do believe that it is somewhere in this room....
This morning I have searched..... and searched .....and searched ..... you get the picture?!?!?
No tape runner.
Where to look next is now the question.
PJ has suggested that it never reached the upstairs craft room and I may have just put it in with my other crafting materials in my back room ...... that's tomorrow sorted!!!

If you would like to share your mess desk with like minded friends, please link up with us at Chez Julia (Stamping Ground).  There's lots of us over there, sharing all our little (or not so little) hobbies.  Come on over and join in..............

On my desk today I am creating my ATCs and Coins for this month's swaps over at UKATC Group.....
Please notice that, even though I have one and a half desks, I am still crafting in a 12" space!!!
The laptop is there so that I can photograph my work and then email across.  I then check they've arrived, adjust picture quality and file them.
The laptop shows my two incorrigibles!  It was taken at our local hospital and then sent to me in order for me to guess where they were!!!  Even when they're ill, DDC in this case, they're laughing .......DDN had taken her and they were waiting ......
My ATCs are almost finished and then I will start on the coins.... I will leave you to work out the themes.
That's it then, short and sweet as 'they' say.

February Colour swap was Aqua/Teal
These are my ATCs

These are the ATCs I received by return.
Barbara, Gerry & JanS

Another great selection.
Thank you girls.
Thank you also to JanW for another super swap.

WOYWW #509

This is What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday - checkout the tab at the top of the page for further info - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting again.

Into March we go ...... dashing headlong as it seems .......the daffodils beaten down by wind and lashing rain.....

One busy desk for the perusing of ....

Two pretty china mugs now sit in front of the Coffee Maker - bought on holiday last year.
Box containing finished cards and received cards, a new pack of wipes sitting in front ready to wipe the workspace clean!
The matchbox is the current project, I have some pale pink card ready as the theme is Spring.  We fill the matchbox with tiny goodies - such fun to receive.
Moving on there are some packages which contain Replica Trivia.  I bought several while I was visiting the Railway Museum in York some years ago - It was the Titanic package which caught my eye so I had to have a closer look.
Some Titanic Pack contents
Each pack contains some wonderful memorabilia (can I call it that as they are all replicas?!) and, having just found them again, have spent a wonderful couple of hours going through what is left of them.
Each pack contains newspaper, tickets (as in the Beatles pack), cigarette cards, train tickets, postcards from the time.......so nostalgic Britain.

The Titanic story has always held a special place in my heart for me because my Mother told me that her Aunt (or Great Aunt) went down on it.
Researching on Ancestry, I found all her Aunts and that one of them DID go to America but a few months later.  No wonder her Mother (my Grandmother) had been so upset at the news of the Titanic .......
Well, I had better close before I drown in family stories!!  lol

Here is another completed ATC Swap for February

The Theme was Hearts and here is my selection ......
Philippa, Liz and Alex

....... and here are my return cards.

A wonderful selection don't you think.
Thank you Philippa, Liz and Alex, my thanks also to JanW for a great selection.

Etegami

 I finished the Etegami card and promptly lost it . . . . . Not really . . . It disappeared into here . . . . . Along with a Dragon Card and...
