UKATC December Theme - Food and Drink

I decided to make these a flat 3D if that is possible.

I cut out some photos from magazines and then used fussy cut two of the pictures which meant that I had two frames.
I placed my main image in the centre of the cards.
The frame was placed carefully over the image so that the card was bordered.  A few carefully placed sentiment and ......  finished!

I used a sketched image on the third card, plus a piccie from a magazine.  I coloured the glass with crystal lacquer, they are years old and it's amazing that they still work!  An added sentiment and my third card is finished.

I received the following returns:

Thank you Kathleen.

Thank you MargaretJ.

Thank you JanS.

UKATC March Colour - Turquoise/Aqua

Turquoise!   Love it.  Almost teal in my case!!!
I pulled some sheets of paper out of my file - did I tell you that I had sorted most of my papers into an expending file by colour.  I managed to find not only backgrounds but some focals as well so am I pleased that I spent time filing .... yes I am!!!

A beautiful brocade style paper formed the background for this card and I fussy cut a birdcage from a separate piece of paper.  After I had attached the birdcage I realised that there was something missing!  I searched through my sentiment box and elected to use 'Fly like a bird' - even though the bird is in the cage!!  I swiped a turquoise ink pad along the edgs of the card to give it a finish.

The square from which this dress was cut had a label - Fashion but I decided to fussy cut the dress and use it standing alone.  The background paper was spotted so would match the dress.  I wiped the edges with a turquoise ink pad and attached it to the centre of the card.  I found some vellum sentiments, fancy cut this one, sliced it into pieces and attached to the edges.  I swiped the edges of the card with a dark turquoise ink pad.

I used an embossed piece of paper for this background, the beach hut needed to be where the action was!!
I fancy cut one edge of a border and attached it along the lower edge of the card.  Beach huts need sunshine to use them at their best so a sun was placed in the top right corner.  Vellum sentiment just fitted along the side edge of this card and when swiped with an ink pad was finished.

Chinese New Year

I do laugh at myself sometimes!
I look at a swap and think to myself how easy it would be and then it turns out difficult ...... it also happens sometimes the other way.

I really enjoyed last year's swap so eagerly entered into this one.              Wrong!!!!!

First off I searched for the designs and sketched them out.

The rams heads I would tangle, doodle whatever, watercolour the standing goat and the other goat's head.  I sorted out my background papers and went to work.

With a red background on this card I drew out my lines on the head ..... and a few curves!

On the second head I added some leaves with the lines, and fussy cut it to attach onto the red background.

I used my Promarkers to colour in this image, not very well I must admit.  I think that the paper was not really thick enough to take these inks.  I drew the sign with a red pen to emphasise.

I used my lovely highlighters on this goats head!  I love how zany it is!  A chinese paper on the base of the card set off my zany goat!

I am not completely happy with these cards but I posted them off and hope they will be accepted.

Sad to say they arrived too late - well, not at all ... the snow in America swallowed them up.
