ATC World - Suffragettes

I can remember my Mom talking about these happenings...... she were only seven years of age but her Mother was a supporter - not actually demonstrating but supported in other ways and because of this past history I joined in the swap.  I would have liked to add a ribbon banner but could find quite the right colours.  I used newspaper clippings and a photo of a banner which I altered to fit.  After I had collaged these images, they needed some more colour and a bit of life, so I added some dark green ribbon which was edged with gold and some bits of purple.

My swaps came through today and they are a great selection again.

Brigita has spent a lot of time making hers, she has not only included tiny flowers but lots of glitter all tied up with blue string!

Marlene included the front page of a newspaper celebrating Emily Wilding Davison (who gave her life to the cause).  It is folded up on the ATC and unfolds for viewing - very clever.

Patty hosted the swap and sent me this stamped one.  It looks like a real stamp that has been issued by the United States Postal Service and is so appropriate for me (me being a Philatelist!).  Great swaps again!

ATC World - Bingo

I don't indulge myself but I know that for some people it is a great social evening.  I entered cos I thought I would scrounge some books off a friend but, when I worked it out, I wouldn't have them until it was too late for me.
I smurfed the net and found some great images and chose one that showed several books and it printed out just right to fit an A4 page.   I stamped a few edges and added lots of peel off numbers of all sizes, followed by a spritz!  When it was all dry I attached some peel off words and then stamped  words of encouragement - another set of stamps found!!  I thought this was enough so now I will post them and await my return swaps.

UPDATE:
Doesn't look like I will receive the swaps as the Daffodils ATCs have not arrived at their destination yet!  I posted both the Bingo and the Daffs in the same parcel ............ I could cry........... I so don't want them to be lost ............I am thinking that the stamps fell off and they are either going slow or being returned to me.  Time will tell.
2nd UPDATE:
The cards arrived too late to be sent out so they were very kindly returned to me, I shall save them for another day!

Wicked Wednesday Challenge #81

The challenge is - Things with Wings - so it has to be my favourite thing with wings - Tinkerbell!

This is Tinkerbell goth style!
I wish I had kept the link to where I found her but I didn't ....if it's your sketch, please contact me so that I can give you credit.
I printed the image onto a pre-printed background, coloured her with watercolour pencils and gel pens.  Added glitter to her wings, and printed out the word.

Wishes - thinks I'm doing the dishes, huh!!!

ATC World - Daffodils

Found one of my stamps which is part of a set that I have had for ages so I entered this swap.
Which meant that I needed to change my shelves round so that I can now access my stamps easier - what's that?  .......... about time?  ..........now I might use them more often! ...... yeah! yeah! yeah!
........... so I stamped a big bright daffodil right in the centre of a blank ATC - ok, as near as I could!  I then coloured them with a bright neon yellow!  I rubbed on some golden daffodils, added scriptures and numbers, a few gold peel off butterflies and they are ready to post.

I shall update when I receive my swaps.

Update:
My cards were received the same day as the swaps went out so they were very kindly returned to me.  I may enter them into another swap ........we shall see.

Out of a Hat Creations #56

Heather Valentin has released a few more digis and one is just calling out to me to colour so when I saw this Challenge I wanted to enter.
I used one of my pre-made backgrounds first used here and added a few more drops of paint.
Using watercolour pencils to colour the image, I gave it a clean water wash and set it aside to dry.  After it had dried, I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the background.
I just love this little man - I hope you do to!

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge #80

Black and White and / or one other colour.
Now at first you might think that I have coloured the wrong image but no............ I'm a gardener, flowers will always be at the front!

I fussy cut the digi and then chose base paper to match the flower.  I coloured the rose with watercolour pencils and then added the peeloff.

they so have Style on my ATC..........

here they are in nature ..... .

Dog Roses

My favourite flower - the rose.  There is a hedge of these flowers planted on an estate nearby ........... when it's in flower it is simply gorgeous!

ATC World - Butterflies

One of my favourite subjects - butterflies  - especially those huge blue ones that can be found in most Butterfly Houses.  I have made eight of these, I found all my butterfly stamps - hmmm!  Peel offs - yeah!  Backgrounds from the web.
Created the backgrounds, some text boxes but they still needed something else............ I spritzed them ...... put them to one side.

I tried out the new butterfly stamps on them - excellent!  I am on a roll!
I  used the butterflies individually in different colours and then gave it all a quick spritz.  The way I am going I shall have used up all my red soon!!!!

I decided to enter these three into the swap, I like their quotes!!!

I will update on receipt of my swaps.

UPDATE
I received my swaps today - amazing!

This one from Abby is an artists impression and I love it for it's red - ness
This glittery one from Brigita is absolutely glittery and gorgeous!

This one from Verna has a sketch of a cocoon behind netting which doesn't show up very clearly in my photo.  The Butterfly stands proud and is quite shine as though it has just alighted.

Wonderful selection don't you think?

Geckofgalz - Eclectic Me Set

My set consists of fifteen little expressions of me and I entered ten into a swap - there was no title for the swap so I called my cards "Eclectic Me".

I am foremost a Christian, but also a lover of Red - and purple and gold, flitting from one thing to another like a butterfly.

My taste in Music is also eclectic, I listen to BBC Radio 3, Radio 2 as well as Absolute Radio.  One extreme to another.

My taste in reading varies from the classics to the biographical, any subject that takes my fancy although Historical Drama is in the lead.

I love to dance although I cannot follow any rules - I don't have rhythm, so usually I'm solo!!!

I love my garden and make sure there is plenty of greenery about me for all the seasons.

I also love Cinderella - the Disney one - and she appears on the rest of the set, which may or may not appear on this blog!

So here is a mixture of ephemera to show ME.

ATC World - Cats swap - results

I used some cats from a scrap kit I have had for ages, I used them to make my own 3D sheets - not very successfully I might add!  I grunged the backgrounds and stamped a bit  till I was happy and then added the fine cut cats.

I added a few embellishments and words then spritzed it all with Moon Glow's Glitz Spritz.  I mention the glows as I found them in my baskets 'somewhere' and they had never been used, or even opened, and were bought in 2005 - can you believe that?!?! 2005!  I have three colours and I love them - I don't think they are made anymore which is a pity.
I parcelled them up as best I could and sent them off.

1st ones finished

I made these as my first attempt but felt that something was missing.

The groups that I have joined have been a great help, the swap system has been explained and  members have been posting techniques they have used.

Hazel from the Yahoo group even sent me some that she had made so that I could see them 'in real life'!  I am amazed!
I love the way she keeps the man at the bottom of her garden!!!

So I entered a swap with another group and then found out that I only needed to show the photo - but ........ I am pleased with the ones I made for Paris and entered this one.

I am learning, and enjoying!

I have 'borrowed' PJ's acrylic paints and am trying different backgrounds, the only way for me to find out which medium I like best.

I have sent my first swap 'Cats' ATCs so I am looking forward to seeing what will arrive back in the post ........... it's quite exciting actually .......... did I say that I don't get out much!!! lol
