July Swap

I diecut some butterflies from several pieces of paper some time ago - possibly when I bought the dies - and thought that I would use some for this month's swap.  I used text paper for my background (that good old French dictionary!) giving it a good spritz with the mica colours.  Once dried I added the butterflies, embellishing each one according to the colour of the butterfly.

I received these beauties by return ......

Lots of embossing, collage and beads.

This looks like a handdrawn one, very pretty.

This card is very intriguing, will have to ask for further details.

Thank you Maxine for three great cards.

Golden Wedding

What a mess I have made of this!!!
We (one of my online Groups) were asked if we would like to make a card for a member's upcoming Golden Wedding anniversary.
It made me stop and think ........ had my first husband hung around we would be celebrating our 50years this year!  Should I 'facebook' him to remind him?  lol .... I didn't!!!
Anyways I set to and made the card.
I sourced out from Google, as one does, and decided on this design.  When I came to read the email so I could write the address, I realised that it had come from my ATC Group ........oops!  Luckily I had not tidied up so quickly made an ATC  ........... two for the price of one??!!!

For the card
I used a silver embroidered gold paper for the background, added a group of golden beads and roses, tied a gold ribbon bow and a gold peel off.  What doesn't show on this photo is that the card is cream!  I used some textured cream paper for the insert and wrote my message with a gold ink pen.

For the ATC
I cut out the ATC from some embossed gold card, added a square of the embroidered paper which I tied the gold ribbon round twice before tying it in a bow. I glued the ends of the ribbon behind the paper but, in retrospect, wish I had left them free.  I adhered this to the card and then added a gold peel off.  I used dull gold paper for the backing so that I could write my details - not in gold this time!!!

Congratulations Roz, may you have many more happy years together.

Another July Swap

Sometimes I get very worried about myself when I see my past my creations!  I honestly don't know where all this creativity comes from ..... today I cannot think straight but for this card I must have been rightminded although I only knew I wanted to use Flowersoft.
I used a gold peel off vase on the 'window' of an envelope and fussy cut the vase.

Somewhere in Blogland I read about removing the glue from double sided tape and rolling it into a sausage - to enable sticking small items - but this time I was using it as the stalks for my Delphinium themed ATC.

Once the sausage was rolled I stamped it all over with several shaded of green ink, it didn't show up as one solid green but turned out to be variegated which gave it a much better look - to me anyways!!!
I punched some small leaves from some bright green paper to complete the card.
I cut the adhesive into short lengths, to look like flower stems, rolled two thirds of each one into some liquid glue and then the Flower Soft.  I left everything to dry overnight.

I printed out a picture of an eye, a fantasy type one, and then added a definition of Delphinium that I found on the web.
I placed the stems behind the peel off vase then adhered it to the card leaving the top slightly open so that I could place some leaves in among the flowers and around the top edge of the vase.
I cut the card round the blue border, leaving one of the Delphiniums overlapping the edge.

My finished card.

I received this beauty from my partner.  I can't tell whether it is a watercolour or not but it certainly looks like it.

Thank you Caro.
