More March doings . . . .

 I had cleared most of the greenhouse and set up the potting benches over the winter along with DDC and DX. 

Dearest Grandaughter had bought me some edible flower seeds for Christmas, among other pressies, so I sowed and labelled and then cleared some of the pots already in the greenhouse.  

Most of the pots contained bulbs and tubers, so they were repotted and labelled.

I decided that I would start to clear the border, it's a no dig so just has a 'quick' hoe . . . . it has taken me eight days . . . the strain on my back was very painful and I have had to nurse it a lot.

Of course, before I could clear the border the bushes needed to be pruned . . . 

I did what I could . . . .more to be cut down, which isn't a problem as I sit and chop . . .

March doings . . .

I cannot believe that March is nearly finished!  I have been pootling around in the garden, it's the sunshine's fault1  lol

At the first sign of Spring, there I am . . . . trowel in hand, seed packets found . . . here a fork . . . there a pair of pruners . . . 

It's no good reminding me that I only went out to fill the bird feeders!!

The back end of February I decided to prune the fruit trees.  I have a triple apple and pear duo, just two trees but they haven't been pruned properly for a couple of years.  I was determined to do them this year, otherwise they become too big to be manageable . . . . I like my trees/bushes as wide as my arms can go and as high as I can comfortably reach.  I didn't think to take photos of them beforehand, I just went out there and did it!!

and there's the prunings, all ready to be chopped down for the recycling bin . . . .
