Easter Monday Workout.

Reading through my emails this morning I came across Seth Apter's latest missive.  Once a week Seth shares some links to sites that he's found.
I, along with others, settle down to visit various artists - one way of seeing what's going on in the world of Mixed Media.
This week among the links was one to Caterina Giglio's latest post..... I am inspired ..
.. must create .....
Out came my old books from Paris .......

I removed some pages from each book and sorted out some pre-cut cards - I tend to cut cards from packaging so I always have lots of cards ready to use.

I decided to spritz the pages with red and green but the green was clogged so I sprinkled some blue cosmic shimmer powder across the pages while the red spritz was still wet.

Putting the pages to one side to dry, I found some relevant pictures from my French dictionary.  I used my glue stick to adhere them to the cards, and then tore round the edges of the pictures.  I added some watercolours to the pictures and left them to dry.

When dry I added some of the text pages, tearing round the pictures and folding left right and centre!!  I started by folding one or two pages over the picture, then I moved on to folding and/or tearing back three or four layers.   I am not sure which I prefer
I decided that I could not use Caterina's title as I was not going to make a direct copy so decided I would call this series of cards - Seek to Find.  To find out what is under the pages one has to tear the paper and then fold it back on itself to expose the picture.

With that title in mind I decided to stamp the words on each card .... silly girl!  Stamping is not something I excel at but .... 'practice makes perfect' they say!!!
Now we have a problem .... or two .....

One:

Should these tiny pictures be mounted on a black background ....

.... or a white one?

Two:
Will I be able to use the pages from my ancient and falling to pieces copy of Les Miserables?
I think not!!!
Is that because it is an English Translation....?

  1. I love that you have found inspiration in Cat's work and translated it into you own. Your cards look beautiful and are very intriguing. Thanks too for visiting my Week Links!
