WOYWW #586

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top to the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.
The Desk . . . . .

Not much going on round here at the mo . . . .Just the laptop and a bottle of water . . . Having spent yesterday at our local hospital being cared for by all the angels and saints, I am 'resting' today.  I had awoken in dreadful pain, which had every indication of being a kidney stone so it was fast tracking to the local!
After administering painkiller (Thank you Phillip) examinations and CT Scans, it was decided it was not kidney stones, although I may have passed them during the day as I was encouraged to drink water . . . .  and drink water . . . .and drink  . . . . .
They hoped that it was just a pulled muscle or two after I had helped DDN move some furniture around . . . . . in my effort to get the house sorted.
So here I am, updating paperwork, clearing old paperwork and, at times, painting patterns  . . .  and watching the wind blow the bamboo almost horizontal . . . . in between the showers of course.

Hope your weather is better than ours but if it isn't then button down the hatches and sit tight . . . . I understand Gin helps!

  1. Oh blimey, that mustn't have been a bundle of laughs, I hope you're ok today? Kidney stones are evil. It's lovely to see you on the desks again and our bamboo is definitely horizontal too though the runner beans are still standing - woohoo!

  2. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Glad it wasn't a kidney stone Christine. Hope you are fully recovered soon. The weather has been foul here too, but luckily all the trees around us are still standing and we have all our ridge tiles. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

  3. Oh, that must have been scary, waking up in pain. Hope you're allright now and the pain stays away - yes, drink water and the occasional glass of gin *lol* In fact, I'm going to get me some alcohol too (a glass of win) as it's time to join my beloved in the living room and watch the latest cycling race (it's late afternoon in the Netherlands right now.) Happy woyww, stay safe. Big hug from Holland, Marit #18

  4. Thanks for the tip - I think we have a bottle or two of gin somewhere. Am sure one of them is industrial strength so that should work a treat.
So sorry to hear of your scare yesterday, I believe those damned stones are so painful - let's hope you passed it and it is somewhere out in the briny by now.

  9. Hi Christine, oh my, that must have been painful, and scary. Good to hear you're back home and ok. Yes, gin helps, as it's a diuretic and helps to flush water through our kidneys, lol. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz` #3 X

  14. I hope that the pain has diminished dramatically. And stays gone. Pain is a sucky beast and all too happy to invite anxiety and depression to play with it.
    And yes, gin can help.
