WOYWW #594

 Remembering Aberfan

My Desk is boring today, yet another box to sort through and find more paperwork so I can get in touch with more folks . . . . .

My 'To Do' list is getting shorter, making some cards is pretty near the top . . . . there are some friends who have moved and I can't find their email addy or telephone number so they need a card to update them.

There is a big change in the weather outside my window today, dull and wet.  The chickens will be staying inside the Ranch but I do have some greenery for them to peck on . . . that's if HouseMouse has not started on it!!  lol

I don't think that I will be clearing and sorting the vegetable patch either!!   Probably I will be watching a good old fashioned film . . . .Gone With the Wind is a good story and  . . . it's loooong!!

. . . . but that is after I have linked up with Julia today, hoping to get round some of the desks and catch up with what is going on in the outside world . . . .

UPDATE

Thank you for the comments ref list getting smaller and meeting with friends.

Back post will tell of the death of Peter

  1. It's a dreech day here today as well - I'm not aiming to do much apart from some mask making for the cafe. I know they'll be shut when we go into lockdown but it's good to have some spares. Hope you find the contact details of your friends!

  3. Gone with the Wind! The last time I saw it I was a young teen! Wouldn't mind watching it again. Are you streaming or do you have a DVD? Perfect day to cush up, isn't it? Lovely to see you again, Christine - hope you're keeping well. xx zsuzsa #13

  4. Hi Christine. So good to see you here today - knew you were hoping to get here. But what's this??? Your to-do list is getting SHORTER?? How on earth have you managed that one? Please, please let me into your secret - I keep crossing things of mine... just think I'm at the bottom... then things start appearing again!
Hope you manage to get that box sorted, and the last folks informed. If you fancy a natter and catch up anytime - well, I ain't going far - not with national lockdown starting in Wales on Friday!
Take care dear girl. God bless you with peace and tremendous memories.

  5. Glad someone's To Do list is getting shorter, I seem to be adding to mine every day! Dreadful weather here too and just the sort of day to cosy up with a good movie - hope you enjoy the film.
    Stay safe and well,

  7. Hi Christine, you made me smile when you said you're to do list is getting closer to cards. I made this list of jobs and it's nearly filled the pages last week in my little diary and now some of them have got moved to this week but I think I've managed the important things though not the ones I'd like to be doing. Which reminds me that I need to dig out the strawberry patch too but it might have to wait. Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x20x

  9. Looking back through your blog, I afraid to say I didn't know that PJ had died, Christine. I am so sorry to hear this news. It was so lovely meeting you both when you came down that time. I'm sorry I missed out on this news. I hope you are OK.

I love Gone with the Wind. I've got the DVD but haven't watched it for a while - it's quite a marathon, isn't it.

Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you like my latest tiny carpet. I am using 22-count fabric (22 stitches to the inch) which means that each tiny carpet has over 5,000 stitches in it!!

    Happy WOYWW and God bless,

  10. Oh it’s been horrid here too, stair rods of rain till lunch time and then just flat vey and chilly. Not the best of autumn days! I very much hope the card to friends causes a virtual reunion, that would cheer up a dull day, huh!

  11. well done on your shortening list. it was meant to be very wet here most of the day but although it was on the way to work it sort of cheered up... Helen #2

  19. Happy Thursday! Thanks for your visit, I had to bail yesterday as my internet was sooooo slow - think all the rain wasn't helping!! Your desk looks so tidy - please can you tell me how you get your to do list shortre? Mine only ever gets longer! Shall be finishing my commissions today, getting some washing out as its bright and breezy and taking a walk. It's much too wet to do anything useful in the garden today. 20. I didn't know about PJ and I am so sorry for your loss. We will all miss him sitting there with his modelling at the crop. None so much as you I guess. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hope you manage to find all the people you are searching for.

  21. Oh Christine I have been so out of touch and am so sorry to hear of Peter going to be with our Lord although the Angels will be partying I'm sure, another lamb coming home. On my jigsaw journey I have done one which my hubby bought for his late father which had not been done, I did it and YES it was trains too! LOL.
Heavenly Father be close to Christine at the time, very close, hold her up in your mighty arms and bless her.

  22. Oh Christine, how did I miss your news about PJ? I am so terribly sorry to hear that he's passed away and send my deepest sympathies to you and the family. Big hugs to you, it's the one thing you know is inevitable but must be so awful to get through. PJ was such a character, I fondly remember him doing his fantastic modelling at the Crops and enjoyed our chats about travelling through Wales and further afield. I can't even offer to help you in any way as we're going into lockdown again today but want you to know that I'm thinking of you and sending as much love as I can.
    With love,
    LLJ xxxxxx

  23. Christine I am so sorry for the loss of Peter, and feel awful that I haven’t known before now. I have nothing but fun and fond meteorites of Peter at Crop days and would so love to be in a position to be near enough to rush round and hug you. I know your family are devoted and you will not want for much, but if I can do anything to ease the coming weeks, please reach out. Xxxxxx
