WOYWW #748

WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Visit here to find a friendship ring that goes on  . . .and on . . .and on . .

The desk

I'm waiting for paint to dry!

I am really!!  I am creating ATCs using the Neurographic art again, this time on canvas with Acrylic Paints.  It is teaching me patience . . . .

I blame those little tubes . . . .  I went in to buy some double sided tape . . .  they tempted me . . . I have big tubes, bottles, metallic paints etc  . . . but these little tubes of brightness . . . .

I have a pad of canvas paper, it doesn't see daylight very often but I used a page to experiment with these paints and  . . .  Neurographic art.

It took some time to find a black pen that would flow on the canvas but I managed it . . .a Sharpie you might know!!

This is my fifth day of  painting.  One has to wait for each colour to dry . . . . like I said . . . patience . .

As you can see the canvas is rather large . . . . the colours are so much brighter IRL.

I have used some of the small tubes and some metallic paints, I shall do another one at some future date with just shades of one colour . . . . why?  Cos I can!!

These are my 'wipe off' sheets . . .  I just keep adding to them . . . .  they WILL become masterboards.

Just in case you wondered what was behind the Library . . . . .

  1. Isn’t it lovely just to have fun with colour? I love your neurotrophic art but have no idea why it’s called that! Leaving each colour to dry does require superhuman patience, I’m impressed!! Lovely pic of the canals, I do like Gas Basin very much for a saunter xx

  3. Hi Christine, isn't it terrible, the way art materials (and yarn) just jump into your basket ;-) You have such beautiful colours in your art. Thanks for letting me know you couldn't read my story. I've switched off the sensitive content warning - I'm not aware of having switched it on!
    take care and happy WOYWW

  5. Love the fun you are having with those paints Christine - if you have to watch paint dry it is at least interesting. Great wipe off sheets too! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #11

  6. I had no idea what neurographic art was, so I looked it up. It is quite interesting and I can see why patience is needed. In a way, it reminds me of doodles on steroids!

Funny how you went in for one thing and ended up with many you didn't know you needed until they were in your shopping cart!

Thanks for visiting while I was sleeping. Happy WOYWW from # 4.

  8. Lovely phrase - friendship ring. Great art work. About time I had another go at that myself. I always seem to end up with the same colours next to each other. Happy WOYWW. Angela #9

  10. Neurographic art is very interesting - I remember doing this in art class as a kid! Your colours are indeed bright and happy! And patience is a good thing to learn! Your photo is lovely, what a great view! Thanks for your visit, have a great week! Lindart #19

  11. I nearly clicked the link for the friendship ring - that it dawned! Maybe I am too tired. Lovely word for it though.
Well, I had never heard of neurographic art but in searching for the meaning I just got myself in a worse muddle than ever. I ended up with something about proteins and got totally lost. Told you I was tired Christine.
So I will just settle for your work and say how much I love those bright colours. I have some canvas on a roll somewhere so if I find it i just need to find these colours - now where did you get them all?
Hope your new heatgun gives you as much use as the old one - now you are in the pink!
    Take care, Hugs Neet xx

  12. I just love neurographic art1 And your tube of brightness are great for that. I found, unexpectedly, that an alcohol marker works on fabric with no bleeding halo - but then I expect it is all down to the kind of fabric! Enjoy.

Just catching up on the last few deskers…

  13. Oh brilliant. Tubes of colour would be a temptation for anyone, and the drying time between colours proves that you're not a quitter...strength Mrs!! It looks fantastic I must say. I also like the big note on your laptop...did you find/remember/take/upload/download/order the photographs?!!!

  14. Totally get the little tubes of loveliness, I have a set as well as the single pots. I found the link for the neurographic art really interesting and really must have a go myself. Canvas paper looks cool too and of course your art, so bold and luscious. Tooth is OK, wanted to hug my dentist after it was all over, bit delirious from the anaesthetic methinks. As for the library, it now looks like Venice, wonders will never cease. Hugs BJ#16
