WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Visit here to find a friendship ring that goes on  . . .and on . . .and on . .

Another busy week, I thought with all the frost about, and me having to stay inside in the warm, I would get a lot done but it was not to be.  I just did not feel very well and most days were spent lying around, taking tablets and crying.  Don't ask me why  . . . no idea!!

But now the sun is shining, I am sitting on a new office chair, (which still needs to be 'messed around' with a bit more in order to be comfortable), carols are blasting out from the radio and life is good . . . .

The desk:

On with the writing of cards.  I am making good progress although the pile does not seem to diminish . . .

I went out yesterday for a meal at a pub in the country, most of the meal was inedible but I had enough on the plate anyway so was not too worried.

Then came dessert!!

This was their version of Eton Mess . .  . I did not think I would finish it all but I did!  It was just delicious  . . . .

R.I.P.

                    Denny Laine

. . . may you continue to play your music in heaven.

Such fond memories of this 'teenager' looking out for him when he lived local to me in the sixties . . .

  1. Glad you are feeling a bit better in the sunshine . The bitter cold days were a bit depressing. My. Car was frozen over for four days so I didn't go far. Well done on the cards. I've written a few of mine but think I now need to make a few more. This always happens - you'd think I would have learned by now.🤣

  2. We can’t be happy all the time - I know you’re such a positive person but we all get caught by the blues, I’m glad you’re feeling brighter now. Well done on finishing that house pud, it looked lush!! I was sad to hear about Denny Laine too, always an amazing musician xx

  3. Glad the sun coming out has helped with your mood Christine. When it is so cold and gloomy it really doesn't help. That dessert looks delicious! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

  5. Sounds like you've been suffering from SAD but pleased you're feeling better now. Yes I could eat that pud! I started off okay this morning and then got distracted again! Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs Angela x10x

  6. Oh dear so glad to hear the sun has perked you up. Sometimes you just have to be easy on yourself for a few days. Eton Mess is my favourite pudding (well, jointly with Creme Brulee). I always serve it when people come round but it's become a DIY version - a plate of meringues, tub of cream and a bowl of fresh fruit!! Seems to go down well. Here's to a better week and a dimishing pile of cards - love n hugs Cindyxx #11

  7. Oh that bear looks like I feel about now. {wink} and Yes, indeed the sunshine helps a lot, even if it tends to be colder under clear skies. That Eton Mess looks a LOT. Maybe lucky the rest of the meal was inedible LOL! Can't say I know Denny Laine so will head off to google and have a listen.
    Happy (late) WOYWW!

  8. Love the image of the relaxed polar bear. I love Elton Mess, but some places mess the recipe up completely. Wishing you a better week. Angela #14

  10. Glad you're feeling a bit better, the sun does help. And perhaps you should have started with that dessert! It's always frustrating paying for inedible food. I always have a hard time writing my cards too! Big hugs, Lindart #19

  11. Oh ❤️ Christine, the cold forcing you to stay in and the time of year and it’s lost of jobs really throws up how things used to be and I think a bit of weeping is inevitable, I hope you’re feeling more tip top now. The Christmas card pile is an incredible thing isn’t it, such a relief to get the better of it! I love eton mess and wouldn’t have recognised it from you pic, but hey like you, I’d have bravely tackled it. Shame about the main meal though, hope the next treat is
    Much better!
