WOYWW #697

This is not a sympathy post!!

I am fine but I have been very ill since the Crop.  I know you are all sorry to hear this but I don't need you to tell me as I am now on the mend and going forward.

BUT

I am hoping that no-one else went down with any of my germs . . . .

Needless to say there is no desk photo this week.  I just wanted you to know why I have been absent after such a wonderful day with you all.

I will catch up and post photos and thank you's later when I can get sorted in my head.

It's very much a case of 'Watch out world, Christine's back!!

Linking up with Julia at Stamping Ground . . . . why don't you?

WOYWW #695

It's been a long, long time . . . . . . . .  since I posted . . .

I have been all over the place since we last met . . . . hospitals seeming to be my main point of call!  lol

The desk. . .

lots going on but only in short bursts . . . .

To the left . . .Cards from 'my boys' while I stayed away for awhile.

They sit to the side and make me smile when I think of the boys sitting round the table, crafting . . .
Down almost on the desk . . .

Well, I managed to complete these ATCs but missed the deadline for posting . . .  can't have it all ya know!

To the right . . .

Just a few ideas for October swap cards, the Sympathy one is so I can refill my box . . . .had quite a run on them lately.

and the screen . . .

I managed a day out with Dx, slow and steady as I roll, and we had a wonderful time.  Can't wait for half term.   lol

I have tried out a new hospital, only because the ambulance waiting time was nil, and they seem to be very caring people.  They haven't finished with me yet, but the follow up is amazing, like their equipment and staff.

I am still completing tiny works of art, making cards and updating the Friends of Vintage Trains memberships.

I have managed to keep the back garden under semi control but the front has run away from me again.

I had a couple of weeks with outside company as the pavements were torn up and replaced with tarmac . . . . it's nice and even now for my walker to roll along.  The guys were soooo friendly, helpful and kind.  We even shared 'thank goodness it's Friday' chocolates, which caused much amusement and joking.  Turns out they are from eastern Europe but have brought and, in the case of Leon, kept their work ethic.  They rolled up each morning about 07.30hrs, started work and kept working all day till about 16.00hrs or that particular part of the job was done.  They staggered their lunch breaks, worked through the rain, shared the jobs and still remained fun.  Twas a great piece of work and a great group of guys . . . . miss them now they've gone. . . . . but saving on the chocolates!!

Now for the good news . . .

I am hoping to attend the crop!

I haven't said anything about coming as it was dependant on so many things and then just as I am ready to book the train tickets . . . . . . !

But I have had a friend step in so Christine WILL be coming . . . .

I am sorry to leave it so late but I hope/know you will understand when we meet.  My friend likes to craft and do things so, as she will be staying, I am hoping she will have a very interesting day . . ..  I know she will!

That's it then.

All my catchup posts to do now, while I am still feeling well enough!!  ha! ha1  Those new doctors would not like to hear me saying that . . .

here's a better photo than the screen . . . .

I like the Bull's flowers and just love that boy!

PJ's Birthday!  Miss him more as time goes by . . . . I thought it was supposed to get easier . . . .

But . . .

It's Wednesday and a day for meeting up with Friends and one week closer to the Crop . . .

The Desk

In chaos!
Not really, I am about to start some more ATCs . . . . Think Springtime and Paris and  . . . . wonderful memories . . . .

The cutting board is covered in paint - A4 size - it dried before I had chance to clean it off . . .

The images I am about to use are on the left.  I have to cut and colour . .

The water is for my kidneys  . . . still flushing them through  . . . .

An empty biscuit tin has found its way upstairs.  This was a present brought back from holiday and much too beautiful to throw away . . . .

The screen picture has been used before but sometimes a word of encouragement . . .

I shall not mention the heat as I am a Winter baby so it's not for me . . . . The weekend looks frightening is all I will say, that and I have been to Africa where they know about heat!!

have a good WOYWW day

WOYWW #682

Busy, busy, feeling ill, lethargy, busy, busy . . . . . what a week!!!

Fortunately, I made it here . . . . the most important place to be on a Wednesday!

The Desk . . . . .

Yes, I know . . . . messy!

And off to the side . . . .

I'm having a good time, oh! so good!

The aim is to make seven ATCs.

Yup! Seven.

Starting with Masterboards . . . . well, once you start . . . you end up praying your paint either runs out or dries up!!

I won't show you any more, that will all come in a separate post . . . . promise!

I am able to sit for the longest times at my desk now, the bruising and swelling is almost gone and the massive, awful pain in my lower back  . . . . kidney stones!

Although I can sit at my desk for longer times, I have to keep getting up because I am having to drink a lot more to break down the stones . . . . and we all know what that means for ladies of a certain age!  lol

Which means that everything is hunkydory round here, for the time being anyway!

Such a pity that Blogger doesn't yet understand about font size being consistent!!

 The screen . . .

Love that dress . . . .

WOYWW?  What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday of course!  The day I go travelling round as many desks as I can to see what other folks have been up to and, of course, my Thanks go to Julia at Stamping Ground for enabling so many desks and lifestyles to be shared each week.  Thank you.

The desk

This is how it looked earlier . . . . . very much earlie!

I am creating Black and White ATCs for a swap.  I found a masterboard made some time ago, some die cuts with a vague idea in mind.

The last of my Cappucino pods so onto Latte Macchiato, I don't have a preference.

The screen

So very true . . . .

UPDATED

This is current . . . . few minutes ago . . . . couldn't resist . . .

The yellow paper is being used as lights behind the windows . . . . . that's the idea anyway . . . ..

After the rain . . .

Walking the estate this morning I was surprised at the difference a day makes.

It's not much but there is hope . . . .

My vegetable patch circa 2020

After a couple of weeks digging . . .  hoe, hoe, hoeing actually! . . . . and planting . . . . April 2022

Under the Apple trees as well . . . .

Today I find there are signs of the results!

Broad Beans, Cabbages and Peas!!!
Two months!
Mother Nature is wonderful!
I also have Radishes . . . .

. . . . .they are not mine.
They were seeds sown back in April by Dx.

He tested them out in May . . . . .
and today . . .

harvest time is coming!

Hello cards

While lying awake listening to OJ Borge on Radio 2, I had a thought on how to use up some of my stash of cards.  I quickly scribbled them down, in the dark so 'scribble' is the correct term, and then fell asleep..... Sorry OJ.

Next morning, I sorted out a very old paper pad and some cards from my stash.  I added in some card strips and really old alphabet stamps.....

I then spent a happy half hour, until I had to give up and go  lie down, making up some usable cards, if not by me then for the Church.

Little bit different, simple but interesting . . .
