ATC World - 2 + 1 Days of Christmas

All lost in the post ...

So I have made new ones - slightly different ......

Two Turtle Doves

Not having the drawing I drew a dove-ish shape and then cut it out of Christmas paper, I punched some heart shapes from red and gold paper.  I covered some wrapping paper with PVA and put to dry.  When dry, I adhered some hearts in a random fashion, added the birds, swapping the wings on each bird, and edged the card with gold inkpad.

Another image that I love is this one of two 'turtle' doves from a defunct blog.
I sorted out my feathers, covered the shells of the turtles with Clear Lacquer and added the cut down feathers, using the lacquer as a glue.  A gold strip of gold Washi tape completed the card.

I printed this image to size and then, using Madeira Glisten Gloss thread, I stitched the outline and wings of the two birds in backstitch.  this card was edged with a red inkpad.

I laid Gesso over a peice of card and put to dry.  I cut out the components using a digi from PinkGemDesigns and some papers from stash.  Once the Gesso was dry I swiped stampads over and then attached the paper cutouts.  I used sage green ink pad along the edge.

On my previous card the background was from my box but it was a one off so I printed out one of the Wordle backgrounds to use this time.  I cut out the number from a Christmas wrapping paper, found some die cut leaves and used the same bird as before.  I smeared PVA over the background and put to dry then added the number 1,  3D leaves and the fussy cut bird.   I edged the card in sage green ink.

I found this site while searching out the 12 days and just loved this picture.  I coloured this one with ordinary coloured pencils with a few 'highlight Gelpens' for the lights round the tree.  I edged the card with purple.
And hear this ....  the original cards arrived at their destination after three weeks in the post ..... the same day I posted these cards - too late to get them back!!!!

Thank you Kathy, our great Hostess .... who not only hosted this swap - sending out all the swap cards, even with all the late deliveries - but also made each participant an album in which to keep their favourite swap cards.  Beautiful, an extra touch which is so appreciated, especially so close to Christmas.  Thanks again Kathy.
