April Swap - Blues

DDC bought me some great stamps from Chocolate Baroque for Mothering Sunday so I am using this swap to try them out.

I sorted some blue wallpaper samples as the backgrounds for the ATCs and cut them to size.
I used Versafine Onyx ink with all the stamps.

For my first card I chose the 'fibre' background.  This paper has an almost invisible thread running across it and has a shiney finish.  I stamped one of the flowers onto the card and then added some cogs and gears across the left lower corner.
I used Promarkers to colour in the flowers and cogs then added the PC printed sentiment along the side.

For my second card I chose a slightly embossed paper but embossed the top corner using a Tim Holtz cogs embossing folder.  I stamped the butterfly from across the lower right corner and coloured it using a felt tip from my stash.  I had to try out all the colouring mediums on separate pieces of the papers .... Promarkers did not work on this paper at all.  I coloured in the wings and blotted with kitchen roll to remove some of the colour.  When all had dried I coloured the cogs etc but left the ink to dry, so that it showed darker.

This paper had ridges running vertically and did not take all the ink when stamped.  I 'touched up' the missing parts with a fine felt tip black pen.
I used Promarkers again to colour these roses, and to colour the sentiments and around the edges of each card.

I am really pleased with the way all these cards look, just love those Chocolate Baroque stamps.

these were the cards that Sid sorted for me ......
