WOYWW #409

What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday - if you want to find out more then checkout the WOYWW tab at the top of the page - and our thanks go to Julia for hosting this weekly meet up.

The first week in April has arrived!  It has certainly come in with all the showers, sunshine and winds round here but the fence has survived as has the guttering.  I am writing up the story on my Recollections blog at the moment.... could take a few weeks..... I shall print out a copy and enclose it with a covering letter posted to Adams Askey then wait for the sparks to fly!!!!

But back to the desk....
I am making some cards for the April swap for one of my Groups.  The theme is Blues so I have used several papers as bases and stamped out my images.  The papers are cut from wallpaper samples so I have been trying out various pens to see which one gives the most coverage.
I am using some stamps from the sets that DDC bought me for Mothering Sunday so the cards will be all Steampunked!!!
I am really looking forward to colouring them up.

That's it for now then, short but sweet....

Thought I would leave you with some winey thoughts this week....

1     There are 2 types of people in this world:  those who like wine, and those who aren't allowed in my house.

2    Meals served without wine are rarely worth eating.

PS  I am teetotal and these thoughts are from Wine Trail Adventures.

  2. I'm not teetotal, but I am allergic to sulphites so rarely drink alcohol. I love blue, so that challenge would be right up my street. Love what you've done so far. Sarah #4

  3. How did you manage to stamp on the textured wallpaper? Great idea to use those as background! I usually use them on my gelli plate. Do you "steal" them as free samples from DIY shops? That's what I do - I make sure to go to different shops though, so it doesn't become too obvious that I'm taking too much! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #22

  5. Hi Christine, smiled at your sayings. I really can't stand wine, even the smell gives me a headache, but Hubby is quite fond of a good white. I'm a G&T girl, every time, lol.Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

  6. I was looking for a link to someone who had commented on my blog but not left a number when I spotted you. Then my computer pinged and there it was - a comment from you, so you beat me to it.
Well, I don't drink much at all (teaspoon a week on average) but last week I had two large glasses of white wine so I guess my estimation has gone out the window now!
I love steampunk (making a hat, or should I say decorating one) so look forward to seeing your atc's.
    Hugs, Neet 2 xx
ps you really should think about visiting that show - see you there?

  7. Interesting use of the wallpaper samples. The flowers look really pretty on them. I'm okay on wine - not a great lover of it. I can certainly eat a good meal without it but I wouldn't say no to a glass either lol.

  8. Well, I'm very glad indeed that your fence and guttering are still intact - woohoo! Love what you doing with the cards there, you just can't go wrong with steampunk in my opinion :-D. The wine trail lines made me laugh too, even though I hardly drink either!

  9. I like the look of your steampunked flowers. The wine trail made me laugh, we don't drink that much but this would apply perfectly to my SIL, must show it to her!!
Enjoy your week. Good weather is forecast for the weekend.

  11. I definitely like the first quote! But I don't really kick people out for not drinking wine, as long as I can! I started an altered book a few years ago that was just quotes or words (like "blue moon") with the word "blue" in it. I found it the other day - I should finish it! Have fun with your blues! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #38

  16. The stamped images are so pretty!
I'm with you on the alcohol front - I rarely touch any (though I am not totally teetotal) - trouble is, I'm the only non-drinker in my household lol
