WOYWW #526
WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top to the page. Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.
Busy workdesk this week..... and NO.... it's not a dumping ground at all!!
There are five things going on ........ periodically.......
1) I am sitting perusing the Stamping Up! catalogue from Anne (Copper Beech Crafts) or then again maybe
2) Sorting threads because I have run out of yellow or am I
3) reading the new Creative Stamps Magazine.
4) I have been/am sorting through the pile of papers and chucking those which I really don't want to hang on to any more. Yes! I know, my laptop is not a shelf .... but it is a space!!
5) I am also sorting out some Magazine ideas and 'things' for this month's card swaps.
So that's my desk ........I forgot....
6) Writing up my WOYYW post!! lol
I am 'doing' the piles as and when I come inside the house. I am not wasting my time outside but doing something I wanted to do when I retired ........ (big ideas!)
STITCHING!
I have gone from this
back at the beginning of May to this
and now have to sort out another yellow in order to continue. When I decided to work this chart back in the day, PJ and a work colleague paid for all the threads I would need - one of each (at the time) DMC colour - and they have been kept separate from my other threads. I found a company who would supply quarter skeins wound onto bobbins and bought all the colours in one purchase. Some of the colours use more than one bobbin so I have to raid my stash.
The box of threads will return to my 'sewing cupboard'
So that's how it is round here ........ Us and the boys are out and about today so will catch up with visits etc tomorrow onwards....
Have a crafty time till we meet again!!!!

ReplyDeleteI have several cross stitch kits that I have never done... maybe I'll take it back up one day! Glad you've been tackling your desk too... love your list of "to do" things! Hope you've had a great day. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteLong time since I did any stitchwork like this but I can understand why you enjoy it so much and it looks beautiful. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x13x
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have so many options of what to do Christine but I must say your cross stitch picture is magnificent. I understand about the skeins. My MIL cross stitches daily but only works on cards now as she has no more room for large framed pictures as they are wall to wall in her house. I dabbled in cross stitch when my children were younger and they each have a birth piece I made. Must be 15 years or more since \I last did any, i'm sure i'd have had some yellows for you somewhere in my thread box.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed your out and about day today? Happy WoywW Tracey #4
Your cross stitch picture is amazing, Christine, and your box of threads is the big sister of the one on my desk this week! I hope you enjoyed your day, out and about, and that the weather was nice where you are.

Seriously impressive progress Christine, that cross stitch is looking gorgeous and of course, the foresight in keeping all the threads from one source makes a difference. Love reading about the multi tasking. I don’t use a laptop , so no space opportunities there, but as I type there’s stuff all other the second chair!!
