WOYWW #536

My thanks to Julia (see tab at top of page) for hosting another get together of deskers.

My desk is here at the moment .....
As you can see we just have the last little bit of weeds to clear.... but all the roses are pruned!!

My desk in the meantime has become a dumping ground again!
We popped into Solihull to visit a few shops, mainly Lakeland as I need to make some more marmalade, and I managed a flying visit the Works...... nuff sed?!?!
Among the dies and stamps there is also a paint brush stand which I thought would be useful to sit atop my latest trolley.... not made up yet.!!
I also bought some new inks - Smiths do bogof on the inks - and a couple of games for the boys.
Before we started on the garden I was looking for some more threads for my stitching and found some stencils so I thought I might have a play .... paper meets stencil!
The glasses are breeding at last!  have now managed to get enough pairs so that each room is allocated a pair.... save my legs .... so long as I remember to remove the glasses before I leave the room!!  lol

The stitching should be completed soon.  This was the latest photo, although my camera has a better photo which the PC software wont show but you get the drift.....
I am hoping I will be able to finish next week.

I am off to fetch the little one now, lots of visiting to do.
You have fun.

  1. Hi Christine, I do like to have a look in The Works, but I have to say The Range has become my new favourite Go To. Considering it's only a department of the store, their Crafts section seems to have a wider selection of stuff than Hobbycrafts. Love the cross stitch, haven't done that for years now. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X

  2. It looks sort of cold there. We are struggling with late summer heat here and longing for cooler temps. I love your cross stitch; I haven't done it for years!

  3. I went into a Hobbycrafts the other day when I was down at my friend's - can't get to the one "near" here without a car as it involves a convoluted journey by various methods of public transport. I wasn't shopping but bought some pens and a set of palette knives...... love the cross stitch, I have several abandoned kits I should really clear out and donate somewhere. Helen #3

  7. Years ago Lakeland used to sell craft stuff and I still have some things I bought from there which I haven't seen anywhere else but apparently they decided it wasn't what they wanted for the image of the shop. I have bought some pens from Smiths and they were a great buy. I think there arts and craft supplies are getting better but I agree with Shaz, I do like the Range. Wishing you a happy woyww and a lovely crafty week, Angela x9x

  9. What pretty cross stitching Christine. It sounds as if you have had lots of luck in the shops too. Hope the weather holds for the remaining weeding. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2

  10. Your cross stitch project is gorgeous, Christine, and it looks really complicated! I love the idea of a picture of someone doing embroidery, and the sampler on the wall too! It's a lovely picture. I've been working on my sampler since the early 1990s which is probably a bit of a record... So glad you managed to get yourself some fun new stash. I don't think I've been in a Works but we have a Range here and I agree with Shaz - their craft section is awesome! My hubby gets bored when he takes me in there lol! Thank you for visiting, and yes, I've just got to contain myself in patience till the DWP gets round to my file and meanwhile I'm trying not to worry about it. I spoke to someone at church this a.m. and he's a lot less disabled than I am and he got higher rate mobility and lower rate care, no problem at all, and had a really nice assessor, but only for 4 years and he is chronic and not ever going to get better. Anyway, we shall see. Glad you liked the kitty pic! They are funny together. I've sent you an email which I hope you get. Unfortunately I haven't received any emails from you on either of my accounts (checked spam too - nothing) but my hubby can drop me down on Thurs and I really look forward to meeting up! Living down here in the sticks I don't get to meet many deskers and it's always a treat.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
