WOYWW #556

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top to the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.

Still beavering away at reducing the pile of outstanding mail - both email and hard copy.
The desk is much the same except that the 'stackers' and pencils are put away.  *Double checks in amazement!!!*
Forms are still waiting to be filled in..... why bother with a passport when I have no foreign trips abroad planned, not even Paris...... and Funeral arrangements must be the most awful ones to put in writing.  I have a friend who has hers arranged down to the last detail.... I think she has spent months, if not years, planning it out and adjusting plans.... I am not that brave.
Much better to sort the post on the left of the laptop.... latest cards and ATCs delivered this morning.... along with this months Creative Stamping Mag Iss 81.  I am trying to use new stash at least once before 'filing' it.

I did very well with last months mag - I managed to create a zine (small booklet from one A4 paper - deets to follow) and a card.
Issue 81                   Zine                   Card
I think I will be a bit more challenged this month!

Just to let you know that I have just learned how to merge the above photos ..... thank you Google!!!!
Maybe I will try Windows 10 after all!!

  1. I've just cancelled my subscription to two magazines because I never used the freebies, though they might come in handy one day! I don't blame you for not rushing to fill out those official forms - awful things they are, especially when you have to badger people to sign it for you. Thanks for your visit earlier - happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #18

  2. Hi Christine - thanks for your encouraging comment earlier. The left-hand pile is definitely more enticing, and I like the idea of using new stash before "filing". I have a terrible habit of acquiring things to use or try "one day", which are carefully put into storage and (more often than not) languish there indefinitely. Hello bead making kit, handmade paper kit, flower press, and blackboard paint, I'm talking about you! Have a good week!

  3. Hi Christine, love the card, it's fab. Form filling is a nightmare, just glad most can be done online now. Rarely buy magazines anymore, occasionally a freebie catches my eye, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 X

  4. The only mag I buy these days is a weekly TV paper because I find it easier to find out what's on than trawling through the on-screen guide on the TV. I don't think I'd want most of the freebies in the magazines anyway! You sound busy. Sorry about the awful form filling. Not my favourite occupation either. Thanks for your visit, and I'm glad you like the card I made. I have no details yet as to the date or venue of the Birmingham meeting. I rather doubt there will be much time for socialising because it's such a long way for us to come and it may be a case of get up there, attend the meeting, turn tail for home again! Anyway, we shall see. Nice offer, though!

    Happy WOYWW,

  5. Ah form filling....thing is, without a Passport you can’t do the last minute thing! But, I confess, I see your point if there are no plans. I do not, however, think you should be frightened or put off from thinking about funeral plans. Believe me, I felt comfort from the notes my Dad left tucked into his will. Just a few informal lines, no actual rules, timings or commands. A couple of hymns he liked and request to make sure that anybody attending understood how much he loved his wife. It was a great comfort and help. Still is to be honest, and really helped me to do something similar. It doesn’t need to be sad or scarey, believe me, at the time, the people who love you will need your voice of direction...as much to know what you don’t really want to happen as what you do. Anyway...totally impressed at the zine from a sheet of A4 and the put away stuff. So much easier not to!!

  6. When my favorite magazines shut down I didn't get any more subscriptions to any others. I guess Pinterist has been my place to go for inspiration. I agree with Julia on the passport thing. Mine took 2 months to get but hubby's was a couple weeks with paying the extra for fast processing. But that was expensive! Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

  7. I know it is hard to think about funeral plans etc, but I wish my Dad and Gran had thought more about theirs. All we knew for Gran was that she wanted one hymn and Dad hadn't told us anything which left the planning to the three of us (Mum, my brother and me) which was tricky. I didnt have a passport for ages, but finally sorted it out last year which means I can now go abroad on a whim if I fancy it. Happy WOYWW. With love and God Bless, Caro xxx (#9)

  8. I hope you get all your form filling done... I must admit I am dreadful at any sort of planning (not even got round to a will) so perhaps we should both take a leaf out of everyone's comments here!! Have a good week. Helen #1

  10. Now I am feeling very bad. I have those stamps and haven'y used them yet. I keep telling myself not to buy anymore but then I see these great sets and all my promises just disappear, I need to stop looking at them then I might stop buying them. Wishing you a lovely creative woyww, Angela x15x

  11. Morning Christine, I feel for you with those forms not nice to fill out, I'm awful at filling them out and always tend to over think things which makes them more complicated than they probably are. Great merge of photo's, it's hard to resist magazines when they have fab freebies with them. I try not to look anymore but sometimes.... you know how it is. Happy WoywW Tracey #7

  12. Hope the form filling isn't too complicated. We are busy sorting out passport for #3 son at the moment and these things are never easy. Love the look of that zine and card! Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2

  13. Well done for putting the pencils etc away!! I think you should reward yourself for that - if I get upstairs and remember what it was I actually went up for, then I do a happy dance *grin*. Hope the passport application goes smoothly and as for the funeral arrangements, I;m not that brave either xxxx

  15. Hi Christine. Did my funeral service years ago, wanted my testimony read so that was real reason I did it, but also saves family so much grief is another good motivation. I've paid for it too, prepay is much cheaper, and also done a new will as otger was nearly 30 years old, and power of attorney and enduring guardianship, just need one more done with Dr and all done. I hate paperwork too. Badly need to file six months worth.
Sorry for such late visit .. 😊
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you.
