WOYWW #608

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top of the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.

Well, this will be a surprise so I hope you are sitting down . . . .

PJ and I were in discussion about whether to buy an electronic machine or not.  He was a "if you want it, buy it" sort of guy.  I was a "do I really need it - do I like it, want it or need it".  If it didn't come under the need heading it didn't get bought, so the machine remained under discussion.
I used my Vagabond the other day and I have to say that it was a real struggle and when I saw this machine (printout just showing on top of the pile), with a smallish footprint, on tv . . . . . I was sold!!  The colour is just right, won't clash with my hair if you know what I mean!  lol
So the desk is cleared ready for my new friend . . .
The pile of papers are various 'in progress' projects: 6021 Magazine has an Obituary to PJ which I am scanning to send to my SIL, there are some 'in progress' cards all ready to put together, a couple of stamps bought by mistake which I am sending to a friend etc.
I shall no doubt be using my nice new dies and embossing folders to ensure that the machine works to my satisfaction . . .
I think I'll make a start on that pile . . .
Hope you all have a good WOYWW.

  1. I am your sister from another mister LOL! We have the same discussion over and over and I usually crack on with my old thing till it no longer works. But cranking the Big Shot or the Grand Calibur is a might pain. Do let me know how you like it! If it's a good 'un I might follow you ...

Happy WOYWW - NOT at the hospital today but with a thumping headache yet determined to WOYWW nonetheless! Best day of my week…

  2. I’m glad you ordered the new machine! You’ll have a lot of fun with it and I think you need a bit of craft TLC. I’m very pleased to hear that it won’t clash with your hair too, lol! How lovely that PJ got an obituary in the mag, that’s really brilliant as he was such a train fan xxx

  3. Oh gosh, not sure exactly what your new machine is but sounds like an electric die cutter. One where you don't have to turn the handle but still use dies as opposed to the cutting machines.
The situation of to buy or not to buy is one of my own, hubby usually says just buy it but I need to think about stuff much more than him!
    Enjoy it, BJ#11

  6. Think we all deserve some extra crafty stuff at the moment especially if it makes life easier. I do have an electronic die cutting machine but I still tend to use my big shot too. I think if you can put it somewhere where it's really convenient you will use it lots. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x18x

  7. Oh goodness I think an electric cutter really is the way to go. I don't use my gemini that much (I have to be in the mood for the 'noise') but I am really starting to struggle with my manual machines. Enjoy!!Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, Cindy xx #8

  8. Hope the new machine makes life easier for you Christine. I have swapped from using my Grand Calibre to using my large Big Shot as it is more versatile with thick dies and less effort to use. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

  11. How exciting, getting a new all bells and whistles machine! Looking forward to seeing it, and what you can do with it. My hubby is like PJ, a real "if you want it, buy it" person! I can think of numerous occasions when this has happened, when I've been agonising over something and he just says "Why don't you just buy another / a new one?" and I think, "Yes... why not! Problem solved!" Actually, he is very good at spending my money lol!!

How lovely that PJ's obituary was printed. I was privileged to write my dad's one for the online version of the BMJ (British Medical Journal). It didn't appear in the print version because they only put really famous people in there, or people who have contributed a lot of papers etc. due to lack of space.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  12. We've (Me and hubby) have had that discussion about an electric cutter too,I really haven't got anywhere to put one and would I be able to work out how to use it,would my brain, sometimes called Brian, because I can't spell, be able to cope! Well, I hope you get one and then show us all how fabulous it is! Have a great crafty week. Stay Safe. Happy Late WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #17

  13. Hi, I zoomed in, but could only see a train? My husband and I have exactly the same type of conversations. I am looking forward to finding out which machine you picked. I have a Gemini. I also have a Scan N Cut, now that needs a large area to operate in, so it has moved on to the small table ( which is highly cluttered and maybe should be a priority today). Are you planning something with the train picture? Please excuse the late visit Angela #15
