WOYWW #624

 The Anniversary One!

I have lost track of which one this is  . . . all I know is that we are all extremely grateful to Julia (Stamping Ground) for setting up this meeting place so many posts ago.  Thank you Julia.

My desk is not crafty at all this week, I am catching up with my office work!!!

I spent a week away with DD1 and so I am having to catch up with the paperwork.

The booklet at the right is our quarterly magazine which, this time, is a celebration of one of our drivers . . . . . . . he retired from driving on the mainline and then came back to drive our steam engines and train up some new young drivers . . . . . now, after 60years of driving, he has decided to definitely retire . . . . . yes Ray . .  of course!

Actually, looking at the magazine now, I realise that on the back page is a photo of one of the last projects on which Peter and I did some work.  Back in September, we planted perennials and a few small bushes, under planted with some spring flowering bulbs in the flowerbed on the station platform.  I must say they are a tribute to our hard work on that sunny morning, we were so tired out afterwards and so looking forward to seeing it this Spring . . . . . they are just as we imagined . . . .

I hope to finish my paperwork and get some ATCs posted out on Thursday/Friday (dependant on the weather if I go to the postbox!).
I am open to swapping with anyone else as well as the person who follows me . . . . .  let me know in the comments if you'd like to swap with me.

Enjoy the freedom of meeting up and getting back to some form of social life . . . . . but . . . . stay safe.
xx

  4. I love that quote on the laptop screen. I also don't care if everyone else forgets me, but I sure don't want to lose my desker friends, even though I seldom play anymore. Such a wonderful job you and your husband did with planting those flowers. and it was nice to see they are honored in your magazine, too. STILL love your pink hair. Happy 12th Anniversary from # 10.

  9. Hi Christine. Good to see you this week. What a lovely photo - and a tribute to your hard work at the station - a great way to remember PJ. Wow! A week away with the family - wonderful - well done. I head off next Monday - but won't be staying with family - I'll be tucked up snug in our family caravan.
    Take care. God bless.

  18. Happy WOYWW 12th ANNIVERSARY! and, sorry I'm late! What a lovely picture on the front of your magazine, a real keepsake I should think! Anywhere we go, hubby always wants to ride the little trains, although, some of them aren't so little! Hope you have a great crafty week. Stay Safe. ((Lyn)) #5

  19. Happy WOYWW! Sorry its late. LOVING reading all about your hard work, we are SO lucky as we have a steam railway that runs behind our estate and when I have the windows open I can hear the "toot toot" of the engine as it passes, love hearing it

  20. Thanks for your message over at Words and Pictures - I've replied there, but thought I'd come and deliver it here too! I entirely get it as far as follow.it goes - I wish I'd not had to mess with the whole business! Honestly, it's as though Google is working towards winding up Blogger altogether, the way they keep putting barriers in our way. I've been absent for multiple other reasons lately, but I'm certainly having to battle to find the urge to reignite the blog, given all the changes they've been making... and now shutting down how we publicise the blogs too. I hope you'll continue to check in occasionally to see whether I've managed to post anything!!
    Hugs to you.
