WOYWW #674

 My desk has moved!

Last week it looked like this . . . . .

This week it looks like this . . .

Well, ok . . . . this work has been going on since the end of February.  I am having to use a hoe so it takes rather a long time, but slowly, slowly, half an hour at a time and lo! it was done!

DDC and the boys came and moved all the excess earth for me, it was so good to be out with them . . . . they worked, I watched!!

Next week it will be here . . .

Do I here you asking about chickens?  No more!  My garden is back!  It looks slightly different as I have had to accommodate all the paths that were set in when this was a chicken run.  I will miss my lawn but as DDC says "it is what it is".

Not a lot of crafting has gone on during this time. It is very much a case of work for half an hour and then lie down for an hour while my sweet darling heart recovers!!

The pleasure I get when I look out of my kitchen window, only a fellow gardener will understand.  I am sure that for me it is the best medicine I could have.

Hopefully now that the bulk of the work is done, I can potter to my hearts content and even . . . . even . . . sit outside and stitch!

When I worked I dreamt of retiring and sitting outside stitching . . . . . have I?

Not even taken it out of the bag!

I may be late joining, I forget the days, but I'm back!.

  1. What a great job you’ve done with the garden, it looks great! There’ll be colour all year and something to sit and gaze at, so much easier to manage to - I think you’ve definitely done the right thing. We made our back into a courtyard garden and I only have to pull a few weeds up here and there, it’s brilliant. May you get much joy from your patch!!

  7. Hi Christine good job I popped back and there you were. Been doing some gardening myself, just a little each day as i find the bending makes my back ache after a while but as long as I stop after about an hour it seems okay. Your garden is looking good. Have a lovely weekend and happy belated woyww, Angela x11x

  8. Sorry to be so late to comment. Like you I've been gardening. I'm told 20 minutes a day is good for our mental health. It's long enough for my dodgy hip too! You'll feel the benefit of all the preparations later in summer when you are able to sit out and do the dreamed of stitching, I'm sure. I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. Take care. Elizabeth x #9

  9. Hi Christine. Sorry for the late comment. A manageable garden is ideal, lovely just to potter round in the nice weather. A shady spot with some stitching sounds wonderful. Angela #14

  10. Your garden looks very good. You will be leased with it as you see it grow. When my GA house is sold I’ll be able to plant some flowers, but for now I can’t as they would die under this strong sun while I am away two+ weeks a month. Take care.
