My desk shows the aftermath of Christmas Card creating . . . . . and will go on until I am fed up of it all . . . . . then I will chuck out all the leftover papers, embellishments, card fronts etc from years and years ago!!!
I have two boxes of stamps and dies that never see daylight because of these boxes of 'useful' Christmas stash . . . .
yes, there's even peeloffs!
I am another year older today. I really don't notice the passage of time as my days and nights blend. I have always said that if we didn't have children we would not notice the years go by.
I like the Nigerian (and I presume . . most third world countries) way of not recording births. Ask most of them how old they are and they have no concept of age . . .. love it.
I will be celebrating with my daughters, not going out as it is much too cold for my 'old' body.
I want to live long enough to get a telegram from the King (any King will do!) but at the rate that age breaks down the body . . . . . I wonder . . . do I?
Will I enjoy being that old?
I suppose as long as I can create and contribute some thing to society then yes . . . . possibly . . . in the meantime I shall enjoy my day.

this is me most evenings . . .
Happy Birthday! I am like you, I feel the cold in my bones way worse than I used to, and some meds make y feel so COLD it's a challenge. But hey ho, we soldier on! Enjoy your daughters and allow me to recover from the shock of the peel-offs! LOL! Will love to see how you use them, when you thaw out and life resumes after the Brithday festivities. I'm trying to get to all the early deskers before dashing off for a lovely lunch with my knitting mates, so glad I refreshed and caught you before I have to dash. Really, have a lovely lovely day and Happy WOYWW!

Happy Birthday lovely gal, I’m so pleased you’ll be celebrating its your daughters later xxxx. I like the Nigerian concept of aging, age is less relevant as you get older I think. The only time it irks me is when I’m filling in an online form and have to scroll back for five minutes in order to reach my year of birth!! I admire the fact that you’re going to use the peel offs, they drive me mad and always stick to themselves, hope you an easy time with them.

I'm whizzing round a few blogs now I've finished making the latest memory bear...think I could make them in my sleep now ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to my 'pink' friend....hope you have a lovely day. Age is just a number...in my case it's getting bigger but what the hell. Live every day.
Hugs,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Christine. Yes each year brings a few more challenges, BUT It's get up and go to keep us up to date/sane/happy/and loveable ! Here we've both enjoyed a simpler life, less food at mealtime, new recliners !!!! and Peace and Quiet. ENJOY your BIRTHDAY time with family.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Christine. I struggle with remembering how old I am and my children, grandchildren etc. It is not something I want to be reminded of either. My brother in law’s birthday was last week and when we there I noticed how many cards had “70” in large numbers. I said to my husband that I am going to have a stash of butterflies or flowers when I get to that age and I will use them to cover the numbers up 🤣. Why is it people start buying cards with your age on all of a sudden! I am trying to use up my Christmas stash, only it does seem to be getting much smaller 🤣. Happy WOYWW. Angela #5
ReplyDeleteHAPPY, HAPPY Birthday Christine, I agree it's too cold to go out to party, I suspect your daughters will make it very special for you. Enjoy your special day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope you've been able to celebrate - with you on not counting the years, the numbers get scary!! Happy WOYWW Helen #1 (the foolhardy one... no, nothing keeps me from my happy place!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Christine. Sadly I do not forget how old I am just can't believe it really Lol! Peel-Offs! Ithought I'd got rid of all of mine but more keep turning up don't think Iwill ever be rid of them Lol! The Christmas stash keeps growing too even though Iwas supposed to be using up old stuff this year but still had problems packing it all away again. Enjoy your special woyww day. Hugs Angela x10x
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good birthday Christine - your Christmas stash looks like an extensive one lol. I have boxes of peeloffs that never get used. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful birthday, Christine! It's so hard to throw things away, isn't it? I have a whole box of Christmas "stuff" that hasn't been used in years and years, and probably never will be. I should just chuck it! May this coming year be all that you want from it, Lindart #16
ReplyDeleteLove the evening sentiment, make that ALL DAY. Ageing isn't great is it, I cancelled badminton this evening as far too cold out. Hoping it will be warmer on Sunday for the nativity, there is a limit to what one can fit under an angel costume unnoticably! Hugs BJ#13
