WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top of the page. Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.
REALLY!
HONESTLY?
FEBRUARY?!?!?!?!
Enough said.
Well, the embossed papers were put to one side as I was distracted by a Blog Post which I thought I had saved so I could link you up . . . . . seems not . . .
The idea is to use embossing ink, various mark makers and embossing powder.
Here you have my desk just before clearing away:
I started with sorting out some markmakers and inkpad . . .
After much stamping, pressing lightly, swiping etc. I now have some wonderful backgrounds for future ATC swaps . . .
They are all shiny and I love a bit of shiny, shiny, very, very shiny (whatever happened to that disc?).Today's screen:
Have a good crafty week
I have seen some fun post about using everything from WATER (it does work as long as your heat gun isn't too blow-y) to paint, to ball point pen with embossing powders and I have some that are older than my 30YOP son! I need to do like a whole journal cover all out of embossing powder, and I doubt even then I would use it all up! Love your ATC backs, they are FAB.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW Early for a change!

What a great idea with the embossing powders - I love all the backgrounds you've made. I really need to do something like that, I have tons of ep and will never get through it in my lifetime!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week,

Sort you’re suffering too, Christine. Unfortunately, your GP will tell you to check with your dentist, first.
ReplyDeleteLovely shiny ATCs
Take care and happy WOYWW

I like your screensaver very much, think I’m getting better at caring less what people think the older I get! What fun you’ve had creating those ATC backgrounds - I’m glad everything is shiny, you can never have too much sparkle!!

Looks like you had great fun Christine. I buy a fair few napkins online, It’s called the napkin shop, https://www.napkinshop.co.uk/. Happy WOYWW Angela #1
ReplyDeleteI saw the Rabbit and the back of the Mad Hatter as passed him in the car. It always seems bitterly cold when my hospital appointment is due so As yet I haven’t seen the others.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love that screen picture. It reminds me a little of one of Tracy Easson's figures. So pretty and kind of ethereal.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to make all those backgrounds ahead of time and to use your ep's - what a lot you have.
Hope all is well with you, take care
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
It's so good to try out new techniques....and yours are fab.

I rarely use my embossing powders, but did used to love them happy days Helen #6
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, Oh my! more guilt. I have a box just like that with embossing powders and I haven't been in it for....well I can't say! I find making Masterboards without thoughts of how I will use them is good for me and I'm more creative doing them that way too. Napkins are a great way to decorate cards and journal pages, love them. I've also found some paper tissues too which tend to have smaller patterns which are useful. Sending hugs and wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x9x
ReplyDeleteSuper backgrounds, great to get old stash out isn't it? Love your screen sentiment, no one knows it like you do! As for love/25 years, I'd rather say perseverance actually! Hugs BJ#4
ReplyDeletelooks like a fun technique to try! so easy to get distracted when we get into tidy and toss! Robyn 19
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have been having fun with those embossing powders Christine. Always a good idea to have a stash of backgrounds. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7
ReplyDeleteShiny shiny very very shiny m m m I seem to remember a song but who it was eludes me. But I love your little experiments and they will indeed make love ATC backgrounds. x x Jo
ReplyDeleteOooo, nice, those shiny embossed backgrounds! I haven't used embossing powder in ages myself... I only have black and some 'grindy' yellowish powder that I don't understand (it's distress powder and I just 'don't get' what it's for...) Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, good to see you! Have a great weekend, hug from Holland. Marit #15
ReplyDeleteI have seen how to do this dabbing Christine, it must have been exciting to get all those colours out and dab to your heart's content. Love the quote too.
ReplyDeleteOh that took me back, *shouting* ‘they’re very shiny’ to finish your chant! hey look great too, I agree about the great variety of backgrounds, and what fun. Mark making….I don’t know why but that’s an expression I like! Loved your PNto post too, how fab that the local talent get a good look in too. Makes me very smiley does a pa to!
ReplyDeleteooh good idea to get through the embossing powders, like you I have a drawer full of them and rarely use them. The panto sounds like a brilliant trip out, I had no idea Dr Ranj was in one! Love him!
