WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!
Visit here to find a friendship ring that goes on . . .and on . . .and on . .
What a bright sunny morning we have here . . . the outside temperature is just about freezing and the only way it is moving is downwards to -5C so I'm staying indoors.
Oscar and I are learning to live together, under protest some times as cylinders are not all the same type, and my hands cannot grip very well to turn the dials . . . but we're getting there . . .
The desk:
Not the sort of card one enjoys making but there seems that a lot of goodbyes to parents have been said lately so I need to up my stock.
Then it will be thank you cards for the hospital ward staff.
It has taken me some time to get into the craft room as I have slowly been taking down the Christmas tree and village . . . so slowly I was tempted to just leave it all up ready for the next one!! lol
But I'm here so here's to the future at last . . . roll on 2024 . . . I'm ready for you now!
The screen:
Wow, you do have it chilly today - it’s cold here but nothing like that! Definitely the sort of day to stay indoors in the warm and do something that you enjoy. I think you’re being so positive re Oscar, it’s the way to be, I hope that you can wrangle him into shape and he learns to do things your way! In answer to your question, sometimes I sew, other times I crochet the Granny squares together, depends on who it’s for and what effect I want. I’m sewing this lot together cos it’s quicker and I want G to take the blankets down to the Family Centre tomorrow!

Those cards are really quite lovely in their simplicity. Sad what you need to use them for but they are perfect for it. The quiet beauty of the flowers and simple subtle sentiment is really all you need. Love them. Stay warm and keep Oscar in line :) Glad you are out of the hospital!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW Day!

Your Sympathy cards are beautiful. Love that embossing. You and Oscar can work and play together to your satisfaction. I have a thin jumper underneath my jumper and still feeling a bit cold, my husband is sat with only a T shirt, yes he is dressed below too 🤣🤣 Happy WOYWW. Angela #15
ReplyDeleteI am out of the loop - who/what is Oscar? Were you in the hospital? The Sympathy cards are beautiful, I too have to make some more for my stash. And birthday cards. My brother's birthday is coming up, and he is such a hard guy to make a card for! We keep our Christmas village up all year, on top of the TV in the "Man Cave" downstairs! It's hubby's village, and he likes to keep it up. Mittsy sometimes likes to take a walk through the village...well, I hope you have a wonderful crafty week! Lindart #18
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, your cards look just perfect. I've been making something similar myself so I understand how you feel. It's been cold here today but sunny too. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely better staying in Christine. Hope Oscar is behaving himself!! Love the cards perfect for the occasion - very classy. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteI do like the sympathy cards, though they are for such a sad occasion. you stay in and wrap up and let Oscar look after you! take care Helen # 1
ReplyDeleteIt's been pretty cold here today so a good excuse to stay warm and cosy indoors. You sound to be mastering Oscar so hopefully you be feeling happier with him. Stay well. x x Jo
ReplyDeleteWe are having a bit of cold weather but nothing as extreme as what you are experiencing. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteYour design is ideal for sympathy cards. Simple and elegant!

I've been such an intermittent desker that I had to read your last post to see who or what Oscar was - I'm so sorry you've been in hospital but it sounds very positive that you are now learning to handle Oscar and live with him. The cards are beautiful, and I think it must be the time of year as I'm finding there's more call for them too.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week, stay warm and cosy,

That's the girl, you wrangle Oscar into compliance and he'll make you feel ok and it's a perfect match! So glad you're feeling up to facing forward to 2024 now, you've really been through it Christine. I think you have to get home and start doing stuff for yourself again before you realise quite how ill and exhausted by every little thing you can have been. So take it at a pace that suits you, there's no rush. And of course, this cold weather means that you are obliged to stay indoors and keep cosy. I'm currently wearing a fleece blanket around my shoulders, sitting still seems to be an aid to finding even the slightest draughts! Im impressed by your finesse with the fussy cutting, and the design for those cards is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, just perfect for the moment. Glad to hear you and Oscar haven't had a falling out yet and you continue to be close. I still have my main tree up so I wouldn't worry, son takes the decorations off his but leaves the tree up all year - so funny. Hugs BJ#14
ReplyDeleteOh Christine I do admire your take on life. You just accept things as they are thrown at you.
ReplyDeleteWell, sorry I am so late commenting. Had an accident Tuesday in the house (not in the snow) and am in a bit of a mess. Knee gashed open and can't be stitched as I must have left some skin on the carpet. Ribs broken. It really is a mess and going to take a long time to get knee right.
Ah well! Hugs, Neet 7 xx
