 Happy WOYWW Day!!

14 Years!

I was not there for the whole time, I joined the Party on 16.01.2013 . . . . over ten years now . . . .ten wonderful years when friendships became more than that at times . . . .. 

Thank you all so much and especially MaryAnn for making Stamping  Ground sound such a fun place.

My desk is relatively clear today . . . it features two important events . . 

Here we go!!!

The first event is . . .

Can you believe it?!?!?!?

Darling Dx is eight years old today!

Doesn't seem like five minutes since we were all sharing the happiness of his birth!  You can probably guess where his party was held . . .  and a super time was had by all if the photos were anything to go by!

The next important event is Today's Anniversary . . .  and I have already received a few ATCs in advance!

Yesterday's post was so uplifting . . .

Top left is an ATC from HelenH, across is LLJ and then two from Jo and Annie.  LLJ made a beautiful envelope (careful, you're showing your craftiness!!), Jo and Annie enclosed a very pretty card with the most amazing verse inside!

Thank you all so much.  You make the celebrations so much more meaningful.

Update:

I sent out a number of ATCs in advance of today.  I sent them with love and because I can . . .  do not feel you have to respond with an ATC, just add mine to the celebration pot.

WOYWW #727

After a day of off/on power, it would appear we are back on!!  The men have been working on the Substation over the road, with umbrella up, all day.  

Last week, some day, there was an almighty BANG! from over that direction.  Not a normal bang as in crash, but a very metallic one, deafening and very frightening and then every alarm in the area went berserk.

The Power People sent me a text to say the power was down. . . . but it would be restored by end of working day!   It was . . . .

Today it was not . . . .

But it is now  . . . .

So I am joining in WOYWW late . . . .

and my desk is bare . . . .

I mean . . . what can you do when there is no power?  A bit of gardening . . too rainey, so I sort of just sorted 'stuff'.

Last week I managed to finish all my stamp files, cutting down the magazine space and now have two empty A4 Lever Arch folders . . .  Thank you to everyone who helped with the suggestions. . . . 

The screen this week reminds me how much better I am . . . . I am really . . .  ok, so I don't feel it . . . but I am . . .  that awful hacking debilitating cough has reduced and the sore throat I can live with . . . . and I am praising God for answered prayers. . . . He don't really have much choice when I start, the only way to shut me up is to do as I ask!!  Thank you!

I am just about ready with my ATCs and hope to get them in the post next Monday.  I don't have list . . .  well, I did . . . but I tidied up!!!!

 Hello and Welcome .  . . . .  

On a bright sunny day I give you  . . . . the desk!

Quite a selection there . . .  this month's swaps so far.  I was getting them ready to post and realised that the top card is a no no . . . 

This is my entry for the Alphabet Challenge . . .  excellent, I get to use my new stamps . . .  

Sorry, this should be for my Die Cutting Group!!!  lol   Guess I will have to find an appropriate die cut banner for a sentiment . . . The times I do this I could not count . . . . 

made some super ATCs for my other Group, then realised they should be coins . . . . good job it is that way round and not the other . . . . 

The resulting coins from a punched ATC can just be seen at the bottom of this pile!!  The things I do to amuse myself . . . . 

I have been outside in the garden this week, so apart from a few hours in my craft room, I have been slowly weeding and pruning . . . . I have managed to weed and prune the corner that my SIL cleared for me.  I wish I had taken before photos but  . . . .

I couldn't get anywhere near that border until SIL cleared a way through, weeding the patio and sweeping up afterwards . . . All the mint that grows alongside the house has been cut down, just one or two shoots are visible but come the Summer proper . . . there will be a small hedge of fresh mint!!! Smells beautiful when the french windows are opened!!  lol

The Flasher is looking good, no need for a new coat of paint this year . . . and the fairies will welcome the sunlight, first time they have seen daylight since Peter died . . . . forgot they were there to be honest!

So that's been my week . . .  very busy.

Another busy week, how I ever found time for paid employment I don't know . . .  Oh yes!  I do!  I only stitched, no mixed media creating!!!  lol

The desk

I have been continuing to use up the new die cuts . . . the garden calls on sunny days and on rainy days the clearing and sorting of my house calls . .  sometimes VERY  loudly!!

Anyways, these cards are still in the sticking down stage.

The yellow tissue peeking out is, believe it or not, a teabag!  Lemon and ginger tea . . . going to try an echinacea one and see what colour I get . . . . love me a freebie!!

As you can see the coffee machine path was cleared and it is back in good use.

Thank you all for the comments reference my magazine collection.  The consensus of opinion seems to be to keep the relevant pages and ditch the rest of the mags.  This is what I was going to do but . . .  now I will defo throw the mags and reduce my folder count . . . . something to do on a rainy day . . .

I shall be starting my ATCs this week, I think I have a plan . . .

The Desk

I have some new stash . . . mainly dies although there were a couple of stamps.  I am trying them all out before I  put them away in my files.  The dies are mainly outlines but some 'quilting' ones are included.  I made a quilted card last week, took sooooo long to cut out all the little squares that when I saw these dies . . .  well, just HAD to have them.  I must say I'm very pleased with them so far.  

I will be playing some more with them over the coming months, just so I can say I've used them!!  lol

I have been looking through some of my magazines and am astounded at how many freebie stamps and dies and embossing folders are filed.  I am wondering whether to leave them filed with the magazine or just file the relevant pages with the stamps . . . . at present each magazine is in a plastic sheet and the freebies are in a plastic sheet next to them . . . ..  I am sure I could free up some folders and they would weigh less . . . . I mean . .  what's going to happen to them in the long run . . . .  skip more than likely . . .Any thoughts on this would be welcome, I have over a hundred magazines + stamps in large lever arch folders.

 Haven't been here much since last week.  Creating and clearing.

The Desk

the Post piled up waiting for addresses and stamps.

Had a wonderful day yesterday with all the boys round here:  While Dad cleared and cleaned the patio the little uns had fights, fell off stools, ate Pizza and then watched a film . . . . Minions (again) . .. . . 

Today I am sitting here, drinking coffee . . . once I have cleared a space to the coffee machine which is the small red thing at the back . .  . . .

The stitching machine has yet to be fathomed out . . . . it was bought to hem the curtains but now will be used on ATCs . . .

I think the coffee is becoming a priority so I will get on with the clearing!

 I don't know what happened to last Wednesday . . . it was here then it was gone!!

But it looks like everything is in the right place today . . . . .

The Desk

Having finished the project on the left, I am now preparing another one on the right . . . 

I have discovered this week that I missed a swap in March . . .  I received the gorgeous card just peering in on the far left . . .  I have had to rectify that but luckily for me, it goes to the same recipient as my Lottery ATC . . . .

A Lattice Fold card and an ATC with a stamped background.  Both for my Oriental Stamping Group.

Please notice the glue pen . . . . I managed to work out how to get it to work but thank you for all your offers of help back in WOYWW 717.

On the right are the ingredients for a Bridge Fold card for my Crafty Cardmaking Group. 

While going through my Die Folder some time ago I found a border die and these 'floral' dies.  I thought the border die will be great for the bridge and the other dies as shutters on the sides . . . .

It's a nasty rainy cold day again today so I suppose I will have to stay in and craft . . . .  .lol
