Last week, some day, there was an almighty BANG! from over that direction. Not a normal bang as in crash, but a very metallic one, deafening and very frightening and then every alarm in the area went berserk.
The Power People sent me a text to say the power was down. . . . but it would be restored by end of working day! It was . . . .
Today it was not . . . .
But it is now . . . .
So I am joining in WOYWW late . . . .
and my desk is bare . . . .
I mean . . . what can you do when there is no power? A bit of gardening . . too rainey, so I sort of just sorted 'stuff'.
Last week I managed to finish all my stamp files, cutting down the magazine space and now have two empty A4 Lever Arch folders . . . Thank you to everyone who helped with the suggestions. . . .
The screen this week reminds me how much better I am . . . . I am really . . . ok, so I don't feel it . . . but I am . . . that awful hacking debilitating cough has reduced and the sore throat I can live with . . . . and I am praising God for answered prayers. . . . He don't really have much choice when I start, the only way to shut me up is to do as I ask!! Thank you!
I am just about ready with my ATCs and hope to get them in the post next Monday. I don't have list . . . well, I did . . . but I tidied up!!!!
Oh Christine a list makes such sense, I hope it pops up when you start un-tidying! Really glad to hear the cough is in recession, it’s been exhausting for you. I hope it’s all on it’s way out now. The power bang was a bit scarey, golly. Surprised it took a week for them to come back and fix it. Impressed that you’ve sussed the magazine space, go you!
ReplyDeleteThe trouble with lists is that when you lose them it's a real pain. I have been known to stay up half the night looking for one sheet of paper only to find it was looking at me the following morning. I think they hide somewhere and then pop out when you stop looking. I've found the best way is to keep them is in a book and not move it away from it's storage place though I don't always stick to my own rules. Hope you don't have any more power cuts and you're feeling much better soon . Sending woyww hugs, Angela x10x
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that bang must have been scary and all the ups and downs of getting it all fixed make you realise how much we depend on having power. Glad you’re back online though and well done for using that down time to have a good sort out!

I'm playing catch up with my favourite blogs. It's been a full on day and I had 2 customers to come after Louie went home [and their sewing to do of course].
ReplyDeleteI hope your list turns up and your power stays on. I was chuckling at your comment....there's no secrets with WOYWWers lol.
Hugs,

That would have scared me to death! hope the power stays on.. Hope you find your list and get the atcs sorted. I am glad the cough is going finally. Have a good week Helen #2
ReplyDeleteThe big bang reminds me of the times I used to sit in the power station car park and the circuit breakers went off. Massive boom! Scary. Glad your cough is improving. It's so exhausting. Take care. Looking forward to ATCs and anniversary. x x Jo
ReplyDeleteMe me I'm on your list! I need to praise more, struggling a bit but I'll get there, wherever there is! So glad you are feeling better, there viruses drag on somewhat don't they. Hugs BJ#13
ReplyDeleteSorry to read you have a horrid cough. I can relate. Also to the sore throat. I hope you continue to improve.
ReplyDeleteI can also relate to the bang. It has happened twice in my neighborhood. A transformer blew twice. The first time, I think it was fixed by patching it back together. The second time took much longer, but the power hasn't gone out since then.
I hope you find your list and get your ATCs finished. I think sorting and tidying is a perfect way to spend time when you have no power and it's too wet to be outside gardening. Happy WOYWW from # 1.
Sorry Christine. I forgot about answering your question. The assault rifle was a mask I used in a journal page when I sprayed my red and pink shimmering mists on the page. I then removed the mask so the assault rifle on the page had no mist on it. Next I added fussy cut roses I drenched in red Staz-on. The sentiment I created was "Spread blooms not bullets. Spread blooms not blood." It was my way of denouncing the gun violence that is so prevalent in my country at the moment.

Wow Christine - what a week. It just goes to show how power reliant we are. Glad it's back on now. Pity it was also too wet to garden. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteOh goodness that must have been scary - we live near an oil refinery and with any loud bang our first thought is has the refinery gone up! So glad your power is up and running now. I hope your cough continues to improve and you feel better very soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and so sorry I'm late getting round,

Gosh that must have been a bang, especially being as close as that. The nearest we have had to that is the mountain opposite having a landslide, and recently a house a few miles away going up in a gas explosion. At least both were far enough away to just say "I wonder what that was". I'm glad to read you are back on with your electricity now. Also, glad to hear you have sorted your magazines out, something that is waiting for me to do! I think this has been a good news post, with you feeling better too. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteOh Christine, I had no idea you were suffering with your chest too. Wonder if it is the same strain as mine. Debilitating, I have not dressed in two weeks now, feel lazy wearing PJ's but too worn out to do otherwise. Sincerely hope you start to improve soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer being without power, bet it was as if you had lost your right arm. BHope it doesn't happen again for you.
Hugs, Neet xx
HI Christine.
ReplyDeleteI hope the spring cold or whatever is improving. How scary with the power noises. Glad the company was on top of things. I'm still tidying and I still need to get my ATCs made. I have the components... just need to put things together. Hugs & Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #20
{sigh} Late again.
ReplyDeleteUgh. HATE losing power. But you seem to have made good use of your time. And oh my, so sorry to hear your chest is not better. You and Neet! I do worry about our little WOYWW family when people mention not being very well. Take car and my ATC will be winging it's way to you soon! Just waiting to see if we are swap partners or just an organized swap...
Determined to be on time this week for the anniversary!! Happy WOYWW
