WOYWW #744

When I woke this morning the mist was swirling down the hill, encouraged with each passing car . . .  I could hear PJ saying "What a beautiful Italian morning!" . . . . he knew that the coming sun would burn off this mist and another hot day was in the offing.

I sat eating my breakfast and noticed the leaves on the tree outside my window are already turning brown and John Keats' poem crept into my mind . . .

One of my favourites . . .
but we are here to view the desk . . .

Shopping the stash . . . .
I found a basket with card kits so I have been working to complete these.
There are completed cards drying while draped over my laptop . . .
To the left are a couple of 'jewel' stacks, used to add a bit of glam to the flowers.

Jars of Cosmic Shimmer Chalk to colour up the flowers which . .  .
are added to the kit for us to colour as we wish . . .

We also have the choice of arranging the papers so it is all good fun. . . .  and the price of these kits went to a different Charity each month.

The screen this week is a reminder of how NOT to use tax payers money!!

My beautiful City whose Council has just gone bankrupt!!
Nuff sed . . . .

  1. Shopping the stash is a good thing. Specially as you have some fab kits! I buy them and leave them
For months. Quite deliberately because the thrill of the new makes me more inspired. I think! They are a great way to produce a fab bunch of cards. I love the Keats too, our May tree will have finished shedding by the time we get home, the grass will be a carpet of rustling leaves unless it rains. Gosh, the changes come fast these days don’t they! Even city councils, apparently….😤

  2. Looking through our patio windows at the caravan all I can see are green trees, nothing changing here as yet but then the Lake District is known for rain.
Looks as if you have had fun changing those cards and finishing them off. I struggled with flower making the other week, no idea why as I used to make lots. You need to give me a lesson.
Take care, love how you began your blog post today, your words followed by Keats made me feel all dreamy and content.
Thanks, have a good week, stay safe and well

  3. Years ago I bought card kits like that and they are still sat unused and I feel guilty for not using them but maybe I'll get back to them, yours look lovely. It was very misty here this morning but the sun is out now but thank goodness it's not so hot today so far so there might be more gardening again later. Great choice of poet too. Wishing you a very happy and creative WOYWW. Hugs Angela x15x

  4. I've never read that Keats poem before, but I am SO glad I was able to enlarge it. It is beautiful.

Those cards are gorgeous. I like the tiny gems you added to the flowers and the cards. These turned out great. Simply stunning, in fact. They will make several people feel special on their birthdays, that's for sure. Happy WOYWW from # 5. And thanks for the earlier visit, too.

  6. Oh dear about the council. But the cards are really so very lovely. I also try to shop my stash but sometimes get frustrated when it doesn't produce what I want (think I NEED) so might end up having a bit of a shop anyway. Tsk tsk.

    Happy sunny WOYWW!

  9. That’s a lovely poem Christine, nice to revisit it. You’ve had a busy week with your lovely cards. I am despairing of government, both local and national. Kent’s not far behind Brum I guess. Too much cowboy governing.
Take care and have a good week

  10. Lovely cards and a great poem. It must be concerning to have your council bankrupt, perhaps they could work without pay to clear the mess they made of it! Not that I know anything about it of course. Hugs Angela #3

  11. I think all councils seem to be pretty useless and even corrupt these days. Ours seems to have managed to get themselves in a situation where there aren't even any offices any more. What is shop the stash? I think I get the idea, but is it a group or business? Glad you like Lionel's photo - he is just too cute!! Hope you have a good week, love n hugs Cindy xx #17

  14. Oh my goodness, got a bit involved with the end of the acrylics course and seem to have signed up for a watercolour one too (wed-fri) and what with the heat and not sleeping even worse that usual, I'm only just emerging form all the stuff and the dust is settling.
Took a while for the "shopping the stash" comment to drop but I get it now. I do most times but did rush out this week for some proper watercolour paper to finish the watercolour course piece on. It certainly does make a difference.
Our house is similarly orientated but as luck would have it, hubbies bedroom and computer rooms are on the North side and my bedroom with craft corner on the South. Had the air-con machine on all week though and that helps a lot.
Love all the cards you have made with your "found" kits and yes a favourite Autumn poem of mine too.
