Gosh! Doesn't the time fly past so quickly. After having found all my stamp albums, in the cupboard, I am now trying to update them.
The Desk
I have a Stanley Gibbons catalogue from 2017 (to the left) so I am adding the stamps and updating all the prices from there. I decided some time ago that I would stop collecting new stamps and just carry on with the Used Postage stamps . . . . . but, once I had opened an album, all was lost!!
Some of my albums, the earlier ones are up on the shelf now, which I am updating. I emptied the cupboard under the desk and it now has a few Christmas items in it and that's all . . . .
Another Album with a very old Magazine. This Album contains all sorts of postage ephemera.
A few presentation sets to be entered. DDC was given some when she was born so it will be interesting to see how much they have gained in value. I also have some other stamp items but I will not bore you with those!!!
I have been working in the garden as and when but I think that the weather is going to keep me inside for the rest of the week. .
. . so expect to see some crafting done next week if you visit. . . .
Layout courtesy of the new 'improved(?)' Blogger . . . . . still rubbish but I have found that the three vertical dots allow further formatting . . . . .not much. . . . the colour choice for the text is very limited as well!
The weather is pants at the moment isn't it Christine. I don't blame you for spending more time indoors. Good luck sorting and cataloguing your stamps. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #17
ReplyDeleteHi Christine. Goodness - it is years since I got my stamp albums out... must take a look sometime. At least I do know where they are, but only cos I sorted that particular cupboard late last year!!
ReplyDeleteFolk seem to be having a mixed reaction to blogger - hope you get used to it.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

I think it's fab that there are still folk who collect stamps - think G has got an album somewhere that was his dad's. It's the perfect thing to do while the weather is trying to make its mind up what it wants to do! I've done a wee bit of gardening but to be honest it's fairly low maintenance so pulling a few weeds out of the gravel is all I'm doing at the moment!

Sorting through stamp albums is just the sort of job for wet weather days isn't it. I love stamps - each one is the most beautiful little work of art in it's own right - I have an album of them but they are arranged by colour and used purely for art and collage!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have good week, stay safe and well,

Not good weather up north but then it is often like this when the south are having sunshine. Glad you managed to get some time out but also managed to get lots done whilst inside. Lots of worthwhile sorting there I would think.

Hi Christine, wow, that takes me back- I used to collect stamps when I was younger- no idea whatever happened to them. Text has been the only problem I've found so far, getting the font the right size is a real pest. Our garden needs a good sort out, but until Dougs finished his courses, that's on hold. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #13 X
ReplyDeleteThe weather has definitely spoilt any garden activity hasn't it, still it's not like us crafty types are bored when we are kept inside is it. I think it's going to improve next week, fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week

we have been so lucky with the weather so far in lockdown (apart from it encouraging the crowds on the beaches) and it does seem unfair now it's raining! Not that i have time to go out apart from weekends. I am hoping to get to Kew before too long now it's re-opened (with restrictions) once I am ok to walk as far as I usually do there (and get there by public transport) Have a good week. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteWell done you, I've just felt I have too much going on to try out the new blogger but I know I will need to check it out soon. I have some beautiful postage stamps and my hubby sold some recently, just a page from one of his old albums and it did really well on Ebay. Wishing you a lovely week and a happy and creative woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, I collected stamps when my sister and I were small. I have no idea what happened to the albums. It's a shame, as I think one of my grandsons would love to see them! We also collected postcards- and they are long gone. We were all in our early 20s when mum passed away, and we didn't think to hold on to old 'junk' ... which we now sadly regret! The rain has kept me indoors for a few days which I am not happy about! I hope it's fine at weekend, I need some fresh air, and I need to see my family. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #3
ReplyDeleteI haven’t even got as far as exploring colour choices of text, am still struggling with the changed font issue!! I don’t collect them or se, but have a few presentation stamps sets that I’ve picked up over the years, I didn’t think to see if they had any extra value by now. Interesting! I’m feeling a bit trapped by the weather, had got used to not having to check a forecast or wear a sweatshirt! hey ho, its good for the garden, and will make the bit of digging I want to get done a lot easier!
ReplyDeleteLooking back at memories collecting those stamps must be great AND you've tidied them WOW.

Hi Christine, the only stamps I collect are the used ones from envelopes to raise money for charity, for people like you to collect and put in albums.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing

You are brave. I have resisted the new blogger and on my only attempt said a few words on the subject of loading photos.
ReplyDeleteI too have been in the garden, and need to be there a great deal more often.
