WOYWW #574

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top of the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.

The Desk:

Nah!  Not really . . . . here it is . . . .

Now I just know that you are asking 'what is going on round here?'
Well you see, I finished the ATCs showing on my first photo (taken on Monday) and did all the business . . . photographed, put in 'envelopes', into holders, wrote note to Hostess and sealed it all in an envelope.  I just needed the stamps.  Well, the royal mail have increased the price of postage and I had to hunt around for stamps to make up the value.  I was just short of 24p due to a miscalculation on my side!  I could only find one box of stamps and when I looked into the box, only gutter sets, Smilers and presentation packs .  . . .  I know a bit technical, upshot is . .  . there was no 24p stamps!
I went downstairs to have a cup of coffee and update PJ.  Then I came back upstairs and decided to have a REALLY good look for the rest of my stamp collection.   Boxes, plastics, images, patterns, you name it, it is there on my desk . . . . but no stamps!

I searched what little brain was still working as to where they could be, they were always just under my desk in a unit when I resided in the small TIDY box/craft room.

Oooh!  Look!

Under the messy desk, right up the end, one desk unit!
Guess what I'll be doing today . . . . after the mess has been tidied and I have visited/nosed around some desks . . . .

The WIP is coming along . . . . just the river and a few rocks left to complete it now.

Well, it is raining here, I would say 'spitting' but I'm a polite girl at heart, so there won't be any outdoor work today.

UPDATE:
This is posted under the new system.  I typed up the post and then added the prepared photos.  Still can't arrange them as I would like but  . . . . . no-one has responded to my comment to the help desk.

  1. The WiP is really lovely and you're making great progress with it! Your search for the stamps made me laugh, I'm forever putting things in 'safe' places and then completely forgetting....sigh.

  2. Oh no, am I going to have trouble placing pictures where I want them? A pet hate of mine is not being able to do the layout as I want it. Can see I will be going back to "Wordpress at this rate.
What a find you made - what a lot of work still needs doing on your embroidery. I guess you are better than I am with a needle and thread so it won't be as arduous a task for you as for me.
Had forgotten postage had gone up thank goodness for stamps that just say what class they are.
Take care and stay well now Christine

  3. Hi Christine. Sorry, but I am sitting here chuckling at you efforts to find the necessary stamps. I just love the story behind those pictures!! Great embroidery - Where is it a view of? Or should that be Of where is that a view? Being a grammar school gal...

  4. Hi Christine, glad you found the stamps! I tend to keep a pack or two in my purse, and saved some cash buy buying books of First and Second class before they went up!Bet you find stuff in that cupboard you've either forgotten about, or were looking for recently, I know I always do. Great job with the embroidery. Not tried the new Blogger yet, but I must, as we are getting it, like it or not. I hate the idea of not being able to move photos around, like Neet I'll be going back to my old Wordpress blog if that doesn't get fixed. Stay safe,Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X

  6. I had to smile at you searching for the stamps. I keep losing things, spend ages looking for them and then they suddenly turn up when I'm looking for something else, it's crazy! Wishing you a happy woyww and a great crafty week, Angela x15x

  7. Well, what a hive of industry, Christine, and lol at the stamp hunt! These days I seem to lose things for a pastime... I love your little embroidered picture and so glad you are making progress on it. The UFO challenge was the best ever - it's really spurred me on to deal with my ever-increasing number of UFOs!

Thank you for visiting, and I am glad you enjoyed this week's post and my knitting projects. Really, your neighbour complaining about your cat... What are you supposed to do? She obviously never had a cat and didn't understand such things!! I'm sure we'd all rather they didn't behave in such a gross way at times but as you say, nature at work!! I'm glad you liked the pictures of Goodrington Sands. It's a nice place and I know you would enjoy it. I so enjoyed seeing you when you last made it down to our neck of the woods, and I hope it won't be too long before you repeat the experience!

    Happy WOYWW and God bless,

  11. Oh I have to laugh, turning stuff up cause you’re CONVINCED that you have it is a nightmare for tidying afterwards! And so bad for the temper! Glad you were successful. And I have to say that the location of your coffee machine ALWAYS makes me smile, such a good idea!!
