WOYWW #364

Good morrow friends!

by this greeting do you know I haven't a clue what day of the week it is!!

Spyder just left me a comment on a previous posting which made me stop and think!

Ah! Well! I'm here now . . . . .  better late than never.

My desk is too covered to do any work, I have been outside anyhow.

The desk . . .

I managed to complete 12 cards from a 6 x6 sheet of paper.  I have used kraft, cream, yellow and white base cards with lemon and pale turquoise matting card.  It was a very interesting afternoon's work but the lessons learnt are:

Use more dynamic papers and matting card next time.

Have a trial run as to placement of 'pieces' of paper so that sentiments can be better placed on cards.

Other than that yes!  all good.

I have been outside most of the week trying to sort the pumps in the fish pond.  I cleaned them again but this time neither of them are working.

They should look like this . . . .

but after attempting to get them going, one looks like this . . .

. . .  and the other one looks like a pipe stuck into the water!!!

Hopefully, I will be able to visit Shirley Aquatics and buy a new one . . . . maybe two . . . .

So there you have it . . . . Christine losing track of where she is, what day it is and what she should be doing . . .??

Ah! well, now she's going visiting . . . . desk surveying . . .  even commenting . . . .

Another hot week passes and we move on towards the rain . . . . just saying . . . . .

Haven't spent much time at the desk this week, it faces south and I tend to keep the curtains drawn to help shade the room.

I manage the odd five minutes here and there and as you can see . . . . .

. . . . . . I am still creating cards of one sort or another.  This one is ready to have water added.

I have been searching for some material, without any luck (tidy ups are the pits!!) but I really need a couple more pinnies.

I thought I would maybe use PJ's African tops.  They are quite old and very lived in . . . . summer wear . . .  I didn't take a photo of the top I used but the design is always the same although the material and embroidery varies.

The one I did use has rather large pockets, which will have to be repositioned to be usable, but will take a phone and glasses perfectly.  (I am under instruction to carry my phone with me at all times . . . . . .)

I used the pocket pieces on the apron made from the back of the top, and then cut two more pockets from the sleeves to go on the apron with the embroidered neckline.  I won't pass any exams with my sewing but speed was of the essence  . . . . it's a sun thing!!

They are very comfortable and are a welcome addition to my wardrobe!!

Off now to visit now . . . . . as and when of course!

The text is LARGE . . . .  according to the book of Blogger, I imagine that small will be invisible or below the legal limit!!!

WOYWW #632

WOYWW?  What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday of course!  The day I go travelling round as many desks as I can to see what other folks have been up to and, of course, my Thanks go to Julia at Stamping Ground for enabling so many desks and lifestyles to be shared each week.  Thank you.

My desk this week is very unused.  I have had a lot going on this week and I need the space to find out where I am . . .  how much I have completed . . . . what is still to be finished . . . . or even started!!

The 'Rexel' sleeve to the right contains finished cards, somewhere nearby is another rexel containing the cards to finish . . .

The list to the left is my guide . . . .hah!  guide   only when I remember to look at it . . . .

I hope to visit a few more desks this week, sorry if I missed you the last couple of weeks, will try to do better.

In the meantime, avoid the showers and enjoy the sunshine.

Happy Birthday Peter

I really don't know how to celebrate today, it sort of crept up on me.  I was aware that it was coming, a 'kind' friend reminded me at the weekend . . . . .

Today I opened my emails to find that my dearest daughter C had entered a beautiful post . . . . . I felt her pain and it mingled with mine . . . .

We have celebrated Peter's birthdays in many wonderful ways, my birthday (as a child) was often forgotten in the rush up to Christmas so birthdays are special times to me and I always tried to make it so for Peter.

Thankfully that leaves us with some wonderful memories.

My snail mail today consisted of two cards from my July partner.  They cheered me up so much because . . . .

She sent red roses just for me. . . .

A deer that brought memories of Scotland flooding back .

Thank you Lucie, you cheered me up no end.

first off I have to say thank you to all my visitors and their interesting comments.  I didn't manage to get round to everyone to say thank you but I do now as I appreciate you taking an interest.

The desk this week has seen a lot of changes as I actually spent some time creating . . . . a whole day and I loved it!!

Today it looks like this:

Various items left over and scattered across the desk . .

These are some cards, created after I found a pack which I thought would be suitable for Men, all ready now and will be posted out this month.

On the keyboard is a printout of a One Sheet Wonder . . . this is to make six cards from a 6"x6" paper sheet.  I have several of these pads of paper and I intend to use them up!!

These are the left over sheets from the cards . . .  OSW here I come!!

Last week I was telling how my printer ink had run out and I needed to retrieve a new cartridge from Peter's desk.  I think I also mentioned that I had stored all the Christmas boxes and bags in his office . . . . .

This is triple rowed!!

I cheated and just removed the left hand row, managing to squeeze through and get to his desk!!

There were all the inks in their glory!!

I am now back up and running 'smoothly', I'm whispering that just in case . . . .

Have a good week, I hope the sun shines on you wherever you are . . . .
