WOYWW #730

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top of the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.

Sorry but I've been back in time again this week . . . .

The desk

this is what I shall be doing after visiting my fellow deskers . . .  lots of 'vintage' stuff came out this week!

Yep!! Good old Flower Soft . . . . I want to make at least two cards using this 'stuff', hopefully four.

At the end of last week,  I wanted to make some ATCs with a theme Vellum Variations so had to find a bit of Vellum . . .

Found this drawer full of all sorts of Vellums so I embossed, stamped and inked away to my hearts content . . . . results will be shown later.
I also renewed my acquaintance with Shapeboss . . . . . wonderful!

Coming back to modern days . . .
I received this beauty in the Post . . .  thank you Susan

and now for a laugh . . .  on me of course!
I ordered a new mouse from Curry's . . . . it is a Wireless one.  Delivery was fast but no tiny USB anywhere.   I wrote to return and, well, what a shambles of a return . . . . no return address, form or receipt!
When the Carrier came for it, it turns out it is a very simple return system and I was suitably impressed . . . . .
. . .that was Thursday.
My new mouse arrived Tuesday.  Still no tiny USB!  I really DID search this time . . . . every where . . . .
all there is is contained here . . . . .
. . . . .wait a minute . . .  what's that . . .

Well, lookee here!! I never thought of looking there . . . . . fiendishly clever!
Makes you wonder how many times a year these mice turn up for exchange . . . lol

So onto the screen
Says it all really . . .

  1. LOL! Technology innovations can stump us all - I struggle with changing the batteries in remotes. Took AGES to discover the Apple remote is rechargeable, and HAS no batteries. DOH! Cut vintage goodies, so have fun with it - and do share. Love that bike :)
    Happy WOYWW!

  2. Hi Christine, I've fixed the link. Thanks for letting me know. Somewhere I still have one of those Fiskars Shape Boss and would love to see what you do with it as it's so long since I had it out. I just find it really difficult to let things go even when I know I am unlikely to use them again. You might have thought there would be some instructions came with the mouse so you have an idea where the different parts are. Obviously the company think we are mind readers Lol! Have a lovely, creative woyww. Hugs Angela x8x

  4. I like the last image, oh right I have all three - my husband is marvellous 🤣🤣. Not used Flowersoft before, but I do have the circle frames for the cutter, I didn’t realize it went in a base. There never seem to be instructions with anything these days unfortunately. Have a great week. Angela #11

  5. Thanks for the visit Christine, what fun you shared with the "Old" stuff ! never heard of Shape Boss or flower soft, and have never embossed vellum Will be fun to see it. What is the USB in the Mouse used for? didn't know about that either. and I see that my 2 don't have one......????? A real learning experience on this visit !! AND your statement at the end is PERFECT for this House. So much to catch up with being gone most of May. HOT here 90's and missed the rain. Have a great Week

  6. I can easily get lost with technology
Love that bicycle stamp with the flower basket. It should look beautiful if you are filling it with flowersoft. I remember my friend in America used to make lots of cards with flowersoft and they always looked so different and pretty. Perfect for this time of the year too.

  7. I think most of us have a love/hate relationship with technology. It's fine till it goes wrong... the Moat at the Tower really did look fabulous. thanks for visiting. Helen #2

  8. Well I wouldn’t have spotted that usb either, blimey, it would have made a fool of me because I would have taken it into the shop!! I love the bicycle image for the flower soft, really pretty. Impressed by your vellum selection, mine is now down to some very unusable yellow stuff! The sight of the shape boss made me smile, they were such an innovation weren’t they…I once embossed 32 hears on 120 wedding invitations using mine. Neve again!!!

  9. Nice vintage images and look forward to seeing what you do with the flower soft! Oh those old tools! Some of mine have gone now, I don’t think I’ll ever use them now. Thanks for finding me earlier - believe it’s been a challenge today! Have a good week, love and hugs, Cindyxx #13

  11. Oh my I'm giggling about the mouse, defo need professional help LOL. They don't make it easy do they. I have been watching some TV programmes written/set in the early 2000's and the detective was parcelling up a video tape for evidence, I mean in an A4 envelope! Now look at things, we can't even find them when they are under our noses they are so small!!! Hugs and thanks for contacting me directly, anything I can help with do shout. Hugs BJ#7

  12. This is for all deskers regarding the Refrigerator/Freezer (R/F) debacle so I don't have to answer questions about it. Friend Sally is a member of our neighborhood (NH) online group and checked to see what available in our NH. She found a guy selling a R/F who lived about five blocks from me. I walked over and, even though I wanted a French Door R/F with a bottom freezer, I decided to buy this used R/F the NH man promised to deliver to my home right away. I spent all of Wednesday evening and Thursday getting the food out of the old R/F and into the new one. The used fridge looks very much like my old one. In fact, they are the same size and design. The man guaranteed the R/F for 90 days, so I couldn't beat that. Now I can take my time and buy the R/F I want and get it delivered in the time I want and not feel pressured or experience any lost food.

You got some lovely new products to play with. I have an M185. My old one died and I've been using a corded mouse in the interim. I could have told you where to look for your USB connection. I am sorry that had to happen to you. And YES, all wireless Logitech mice, regardless of make, have that same set up. My friend Scott first bought me a white Pebble (flat mouse), but my hand prefers the M185. Happy WOYWW from # 3.
