WOYWW #731

WOYWW - All the deets on how to link up etc. and, more importantly, why you should, can be found at the top of the page.  Thank you Julia for hosting another week of fun and mayhem.

Having spent some time in the past, here is today's desk . . . .

Now there's a good selection of stuff . . . . . as you can see my desk has been a dumping ground, while I have tried to sort out pond and garden and sitting in the sun.  There's a card and some holographic paper for the stitched panel to the right, a pack of coloured paper I picked up in the village on Monday . . .  thought I would try out gelli printing on it . . . . just cos . . .

The pond took most of the day to empty down and refill, with a leaky hose which was a nightmare,  but I think the fish are better for it and they also have a few new plants . . . . just need the water to clear a bit more . . . .

I have been watering and weeding in the garden, 30mins a time but slowly getting there.  Trying to outsmart the pigeons and squirrels takes time . .  . I caught cyril eating my rosebuds, but didn't realise they like young apples and pears as well as flower buds!!!  The pigeons are thwarting all my effort with the chard but I hope to 'net' it this week . . .
I joined Julia in sitting stitching, nothing complicated for me . . . .
The stitched panel was stitched along with the birdsong . . . wish I could have recorded it all.

Speaking of Gelli prints, we were having a discussion about it on one of my Groups and so I thought I would use some for the background to one of my swaps . . .  Silly Animals.
I just love this stamp and die set . . ..

Speaking of cards . . .
I had an interesting couple of days playing with the flowersoft.  It takes patience to do these, each colour has to dry before adding the next one . . .  but I am happy with the results.  How to pack them so the Flowersoft doesn't rub off is now the biggie . . . .

I have received all my ATC cards and want to thank everyone for sending me such a variety of artwork . .  . .  love them all.
The screen this week is an oldie but goodie.

Thank you to Blogger for various text sijzes.  The Text size is set at largest . . . . all of it . . .

  1. Hi Christine, I love having a pond but there is quite a lot of work but that's my fault apparently as I wanted to keep koi so the pond got bigger and we have two filters on the go and well you can imagine the rest! I love Gelli prints and your cards are gorgeous. The only problem with Gelli printing I don't know when to stop once I get started Lol! and I love how you've used the flower soft. I picked some up that a friend was giving away but thinking I might use it in some resin projects. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x11x

  2. Wow on that stitched panel. I don't sew by hand because I have no pinch grip. Love your gel plate backgrounds. I never get such beautiful results with mine.

Love those cards, especially the bicycle. I've never heard of flower soft. but the cards sure turned out great. Guess I need to look into what it is. Happy WOYWW from # 4.

    1. I finally took time to look up flower soft. Those flowers in the bicycle basket and on the ground are stunning. I get it now and I can see why it would take so long to make these. Both cards are genuine works of art.

  3. The pond upkeep is quite a chore isn't it. Well done for keeping on top of everything in the garden a little at a time. I am miles behind, but thanks to Alex the hedge and grass are cut. Love your crafting and you have inspired me to look at my gel plate and play with it again. Happy WOYWW. Take care, with love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#15)

  4. Never used flower soft although I think I may have something similar lurking about from a freebies in days gone by! The cards are lovely, well worth the effort and the in between waiting on drying. Good job getting the pond sorted, mine is mini compared to yours but it needs some rejuvenation, caught the pigeons trying to bath in it again despite all the logs around it. No wonder one of my plants is a gonna! I have moved another log/branch over it again. What a pain the pigeons are eating the rosebuds, I tend to chase mine, and at my age, what a sight! Lovely to hear about your diaries. I guess my scrapbooks are my sort of diaries. This latest one is really to document what has happened to me and is happening to me with this horrid skin condition. As it is quite rare not all GP/consultants are clued up about it, I need to keep on my toes. So much easier to manage post menopause, I had far to many other issues before that. Hugs BJ#6

  5. You’ve been busy inside and out! G has been doing our pond too, it’s amazing how green it gets, there’s only five fish in there, and that’s despite an efficient filter and fountain pump. Love your indoor crafting too, great results from the gelli plates!

  7. Love that Silly animals stamp set. Your stitching looks amazing! My father in law used to say it was a battle between the birds, mice, squirrels and rabbits and him over the produce. Happy WOYWW. Angela #13

  11. My word I can see what a nightmare the pond pipes must have been. I know it’s worth it, but at the time it’s such an effort isn’t it!! The flower soft cards are so pretty, I didn’t realise you had to do the colours separately (although I suppose I could have thought about it!). You have been a very patient person this week! Your hello backgrounds look fab with the animals, am interested to see how the holiday works with the hello.

  12. Good morning, Christine!
I always wanted a pond but have come to the decision at my age I don't have the energy. shallow bird baths it is! LOL. Lovely pieces you have there. I've had green pepper plants in the garden 2 days and the deer have already nipped off one stock - the only one that had a flower!! Oh well, they need to eat, too, and I do enjoy my wildlife.
    Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #16
