WOYWW #738

Today the sun is shining after all the rain, if only for a morning!!!
The Desk

Another mixture!  So much to do.  Coffee cup half drunk already and it's not even noon!!!
There is a funeral announcement from Africa.  My beloved son's Mother.  How I have loved that Family of God . . . so many, many happy memories . . . .
The New list for August has appeared . . . I know . . . . the year is slipping past and I'm nearly into Autumn!
ATC bases and a dictionary page have also appeared . . . . some time ago I had a play with Distress inks and embossing powders.  I tried to use the colours for future swaps so that I had ready made ATC bases when the time came . . . this month it's Lilac/Purple . . .I have found some super animals to use on them . . ..  watch this space as there might be a host of catch up posts . . . .
I am now collecting in my harvest from the garden, only small but I have peas, beans and  . . .

Potatoes!!!!  Bear in mind that the original spuds were planted back in 2022 by Dx . . . we never managed to dig them up so, when they put in an appearance this spring,  I just left them . . . .  this result was dug up by SILR . . . . tiny and delicious!   You didn't think I was going to leave them in the dish!!??!

  1. It feels like Autumn already weather wise, doesn’t it? Interestingly, the Welsh word for July is Gorfennhaf which means “end of Summer”! As an August baby, I remember that my birthday was quite often rainy…perhaps explains why I like the cooler weather for definite! Sorry about the lack of pink, there is some there, I’m waiting for reinforcements, lol!! Enjoy those potatoes, they look lush xx

  2. Enjoy your home grown veg - the potatoes look delish! Nothing nicer than new potatoes and hoe grown on top - bliss!
Sorry about the passing of the lady in Africa.
Look forward to seeing those ATC's.
Weather? Well coming home from Cheltenham which we left in bright sunshine, we had black clouds and some raihn,a then sun again, then more rain (heavy this time) then sunshine, more dull weather and surprisingly on reaching our home town - sunshine!
It's a funny old world at times.

  5. Weather is all over the place but I suppose we should be grateful it isn't ridiculously hot. It's no wonder we are obsessed with the weather!! Can't wait to see those ATCs, very organised of you! Yummy potatoes - I seem to have some growing in the compost heap, not sure if I'll try gdigging them out though. Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #13

  7. I really wish it felt more like autumn and less like the heat of summer where I live. Thankfully, most of the herbs I'm growing are from the Mediterranean and can take the heat. However, my mint and basil are suffering a bit.

Sorry about your loss. My heart goes out to you, Christine.

Oh those new potatoes look wonderful. Nothing better than creamed peas and new potatoes. That's a lovely screen saver this week. And of course, I look forward to seeing your August ATCs, too. Happy WOYWW from # 1.

  8. It's funny but some mornings have felt quite autumnal. The weather has done it's usual thing. As soon as the children finish for the summer break it rains and often when they start back we have a few nice weeks. I'm growing Cauliflowers this year and they are looking good so far. Sorry to hear about your loss. Take care and wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x9x

  10. Oh so sorry for your loss, and your son's. Very sad indeed. The weather is so dismal and lots of not great news mixed in with some lovely news this WOYWW so hard to know HOW to feel about it all. But your lovely potatoes look delicious indeed. Enjoy every petite mouthful!
    Happy WOYWW a day late

  11. Happy Belated WOYWW. Those potatoes will taste wonderful. We are hoping to grow veggies when we move. It has finally stopped raining here in West Wales after more than 24 hours of constant wetness. The fields and garden are already looking greener. I have errands to do later, so glad to be able to get out without a rain coat on. Ali x #19
