WOYWW #745

I see Blogger has been 'updating' again!!

So the sun is shining after two days of continuous drizzle . . .

My Desk

Clear desk time  . . . . need to get all the contents of the box on the right hand side ready to post.

There are cards, ATCs and coins all nearly finished.  They just need to be checked, finished, enveloped and addressed . . . . . with that expensive (price hike again in October and not just a penny or two!) postage stamp(s) added.
Royal Mail made it a lot easier last price increase to send cards abroad . . . . they reduced the price of lower band to 2x1st Class stamps.
When they hike up the price, we'll all have to buy 'make up' stamps . . . . . less and less encouragement to use them . . . .  I can see a future when all these cards will just be an emailed photo!!
ENOUGH!!
The sun is shining and my screen encourages me . . . .

  1. What an appropriate Bible quote Christine - something we Wowwers all hold dear. No I'm not keen on Halloween but the donated fabric had a lovely panel with 8 pictures on it. I guess the lady had intended to make a quilt but never got round to it. Sad really but lovely that by making a few little bags I can maybe raise a few quid for a charity so it's been put to a good cause. 😀x x Jo

  2. I'm so sorry I missed you last week Christine 🤗 I am loving your hair 💗 🥰 beautiful profile photo. Oh how I hope we don't give up on handwritten, handmade mail through the letterbox, such treasures they are. Enjoy the sunshine, with those words so very apt 🙏 Wishing you all good things in the week ahead with much love and hugs Tracy #12 xxxx

  3. Postage increases seem more frequent than ever - always used to be annual, now I think its twice yearly. and they wonder why people don't send mail... Hope you have a good rest of the week and happy WOYWW. Helen #8

  4. It seems that Royal Mail is determined to wipe out its own business! I sincerely hope that snail mail doesn’t disappear because I love getting cards and other stuff through the post. You have a lot of beautifully crafted items that are going to give a lot of pleasure when they arrive through the recipient’s letterbox!
No probs re a daffy-down-dilly shopper, I probably won’t get back to sewing until the weekend as my son is still working from home in the JanCave! I’ll be in touch xx

  5. I too can see the day coming when all mail is done via the internet. Progress in one direction hampers life in another. It will be sad to have snail mail ceasing but I guess the cost is just too much for lots of people.
Enjoy your ATC's/Coins and whatever crafting you do whilst you can Christine. In the meantime, take care of yourself.

  7. October is a good choice for a price increase, we will all have to post our Christmas cards early to beat it! Happy WOYWW. Angela #4

  8. There will be some really lucky recipients of these goodies you have created. Here in the states, we have "forever" stamps. If you buy them before a price increase they can be used no matter how much postage increases. Too bad your Royal Mail doesn't have that option.

That is a wonderful Bible quote, Christine. Should be a motto for all. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

  9. There are some very meaningful words in the bible which many people would learn from. I think the post office are losing it really. We've had some really hot days, then it poured it down and today was just perfect so we've been doing some gardening....well before it decides to pour it down again Lol! but unfortunately that means I've not been in the cabin at all today and I'm can't wait to get back in there to do some more crafting. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x14x

  10. I'm very late calling round today but I'm not sorry because we have had a very special day making memories with little Louie...and no sewing was done at all.
I think Royal mail will price themselves out of a lot of business the way they are going.

  11. Oh what a lovely new do I spot on the side!! Fabulous. I ache for a lovely lavender but not quite brave enough LOL! We sent in a huge pile of "old stamps" to exchange for new and I suspec lost in the process. Grrr. I got some new stamps tso might have to make some ATCs with them - will ask you to trade *IF* I follow thru!!

  12. Hope it doesn't cost too much for the postage Christine. It might be worth looking at Evri for heavier/bulkier items. I send my samples for £2.99 and they can be up to 1kg and insured for up to £20 too. Cheaper without the insurance if the item can be posted through a letterbox. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #6
