Do not mention roofs to me!!!
We have had another busy week, including a day spent with DDC and 'boys' transforming her back garden!
We went round for a couple of hours and stayed the whole day! We had hoped that we would spend time just playing as we took a small slide with us and a laaaarge bottle of bubbles I found in Wilko's.
DDC had already made a start on the 'small' low hedge so we helped her and the time just flew past .... DSR even had pulled pork baps ready for us at lunchtime!
A really busy day but most enjoyable.
Now for the desk!
I have been trying to create a card for an ex-colleague's wedding anniversary and the components are laid out on the desk. I have enjoyed die cutting the images and water colouring them ...... now to place them on the card ......
Hope I have time to finish the card and get it in the post by the weekend.
Not talking about anything up high ..... the story is long and disheartening..... my opinion of men has not been changed .... although the Scaffolders could not be faulted in any way ..... efficiency and courtesy along with conversation did not not slow any of these chaps at all..... shame abut the roofers, when the story has concluded I may share.....
Hope to visit a few more Blogs this week, didn't manage many last week so there is room for improvement!!!
Depends on Little Soldier again ......
You have a good week and I hope to see you here next week!!

Hi Christine. Oh dear - that bad?? Sorry to hear that... However, thanks for your visit and comments - yes, Joy did so well with that jumper. When I taught her to knit as a young lass, she looked me in the eye and said "NEVER, EVER, am I going to knit again" Oh well, glad she got past that... she has now started on a jumper for herself - no arran this time! Hey - looking forward already to seeing you in September! It's beginning to sound like a good number hope to make it up here to the North Wales coastline!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Hope the roof saga is sorted soon. Glad the gardening went well at least. Sarah #25
ReplyDeleteGreat images waiting to go on the card. Sounds like you need the craft time to wind down from the roof thing...am so sorry that they cause stress, it's just horrid. Thank goodness you can escape and go sort out gardens in exchange for lunches....that would work here too!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if you've been really busy, Christine, and I'm so sorry to hear about your roofing woes - I hope that is resolved quickly and you can forget the stress of it all. According to my sister, gardening is a tremendous stress-reliever so I'm glad you've had the opportunity for that at least! Thank you for such a lovely comment - yes, thank you, I am feeling so much better now! I am resting in between my activities and gradually my strength is returning. It's funny how good doing the laundry and washing up made me feel - so mundane as you say, but it made me feel normal again!!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,

Major transformation in the garden there puts my little planting to shame! Hope you decide where to put your elements on the card and thanks for the visit. BJ#9
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been busy. Funny how a couple of hours can turn into a whole day. Sounds like help was needed and appreciated. Good luck with the card!

Yeah, we did our own roof including the A frames - hard work but less stressful in the long run, we did get a roofer to help us with the 'lozenge' slate design on our house, but otherwise avoided the pain of depending on 'ouvriers'... we now just have the extension, barn and ruin (studio to be) left to complete...I do hope you are dry, I know what it is like to sleep under the stars - it is cold and wet and not at all romantic...we have a BnB fund - if it all gets too much we pick a very local pretty place and we go stay in a BnB for the night - floors walls roof and bathroom - Bliss....dxxx13
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, it is so easy when in the garden for the day to fly past! Having work done can be so stressful, hope it works out well. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz#8, XxXx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a story in the making regarding roofers - sorry you seem to have had troubles with them. You sure did do a wonderful transformation on that garden! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #39

ReplyDeleteI do hope you get your card finished :)
ReplyDeleteWe had our chimney removed last year - the scaffolders, roofers and workmen were amazing - all done in half a day and they even tidied up after themselves AND bought their own tea lol
Hope you managed to finish your card in time.Glad you liked my steampunk journalcover so much, have a lovely weekend, Vicky
