Southwold

We were up early next morning and soon out so that we could explore.  We had been told that it was quite a hike to the bus stop so I made sure I had my walking poles with me.  They proved to be very useful during the day!
The bus dropped us of in Southwold and we ventured forth ...... to the nearest coffee shop of course!

Never seen such a selection in Costa before .....

We carried on walking down the high street, popping into a shop here and there, and then made for the sea front.
We found ourselves a bench and sat looking at the view, watching this small, to us on the land, boat and the people passing by.

Then we decided to walk along the promenade to the pier.......

Left the town behind and then trotted off.......

We decided we would have a coffee in one of the eateries on the Pier itself and had a delicious cream tea at the Boardwalk Restaurant.
It was very warm now, forecast had said 16-19C but it was very hot to tell the truth.
We decided to catch the bus back into town.
As we left the pier we noticed this very interesting mural, giving information we didn't know.

The bus timetable stated that we had just missed the bus and rather than stand there for an hour we walked into town ..... to my family and friends I say "the invetable loooooong walk in the noonday sun!".  It was not noon but I fall for this long walk every time......
By the time we reached the town I was exhausted and PJ was in total agreement to stop for coffee.

We had coffee at the Swan Hotel, deliciously olde worlde...... and a good cup of coffee too.  We sat chatting to another couple for some time and then took our leave.

We wandered up to the bus stop, managed to catch the right bus and then, after the 30minute bus journey, we started the long walk back to the park.

Just outside the park the roadway descends towards the park entrance and halfway down this hill, PJ fell.
We managed to get him up on his feet, passing traffic managed to miss us and we made it back to the caravan.
I phoned NHS 111 who recommended going to hospital .....
I sought out Security who phoned for a taxi and off we went.
We were in, assessed by a doctor, x-rayed, diagnosed, strapped and back in a taxi in two hours.
Yes!
TWO hours!
Couldn't believe it!
Doctor Taylor told PJ he had fractured his hand and needed to take things easy.
He may also have bruised his ribs but that just needed rest.
He was ok to drive home if he felt fit.

Wasn't much we could do so it looked like we were having a couple of days rest in the caravan!!
