I didn't complete the cards I had intended to make last week, the papers are being flattened under my stamp file. I have had a couple of bad days over the week, sore throat returned with a vengeance and I very nearly went to the Doctor's but I just felt too poorly... rest and stitch while sitting outside watching stupid chickens!!! lol
I consider myself very blessed that I have a garden to sit in, overgrown it may be but the chooks appreciate the occasional weed and the birds just love the bushes.

The crosstitch is now into the final stages, individual stitches that have been missed with a couple of patches where I don't have any thread of that colour left. The patches can wait till we are out of solitary....
I am not looking forward to all the outlining but, heigh ho! I am determined to finish this!
Well, the sun is shining and the said crosstitch is waiting .....
What a beautiful cross stitch Christine, I hope you manage to finish it. Sorry to hear that you have not fully recovered yet. Hope you are finally virus free soon. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7
ReplyDeleteAt least you have a plan for your egg boxes. And your cross stitch photos are beautiful. I hope you can enjoy finishing them.It has lots of detail. I had to quit the close stitch things, eyes, aging is hell. Best thing for sore throat "Honey: in a warm drink. I use ginger tea at least every other day no matter what, in this odd weather. Stay Safe and Blessings for good health and energy.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were ill, these are scary times and I do hope you feel better every day and the virus will not return... take it easy dear one and be safe and healthy soon! Love from Holland, Marit #21
ReplyDeleteI hadn't realised from your last post you had had this Covid-19 and now you are feeling symptoms again! Hope it is not anything like that. Rest and warm drinks are the order of the day plus a bit of gargling for that throat. I hope you can have something soothing to suck as well, honey is a good healer. That is about the end of my ideas, sorry.
ReplyDeleteAs for your cross stitch, well, it is gorgeous. I can see it growing with this lockdown being on for a while so stay well and happy and keep cross stitching whilst watching those chooks.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Hi Christine, well done with the crosstitch. I seem to remember you showed us your chickens at some time, love to see them again. Take care and happy creative woyww, Angela x17x
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, hope the sore throat passes, and you're feeling better soon. Lovely cross stitch, haven't done any of that for years. Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #8 X
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that you've had symptoms again Christine, goodness you've had it bad. I think that sitting in the sunshine resting is a good idea, and the chooks are good entertainment. Well done on doing so much of that cross stitch too, it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that you get better over the next week, lovely gal.

Hi Christine! Lovely cross-stitch piece. I've not done that in years. it's an eye thing. glasses on to cross stitch but off to watch tv. So sorry you're struggling through this again. Please do take precious care, my friend. enjoy the sunshine and the chicken's antics. Entertaining they can be. Healing energy, creative blessings and big hugs. Kelly #26
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cross-stitching! I used to do a lot of this, so I know how time-consuming it is! Lovely to have a garden, and chickens as well to keep you company! Way too cold here still to enjoy being outside. All I have to watch are squirrels and foxes, making sure they don't eat the cats! Hope you are feeling better, take care, Lindart #28
ReplyDeleteSorry you have been ill , hope you are feeling much better. Your cross stitch is beautiful , i used to cross stitch years ago but don't have the patience for the counting now.Take care and keep safe Soojay#19
ReplyDeleteHi Christine. Sorry you have thought the symptoms were coming back. Trust you are now doing good! Fabulous cross stitch. A kit? or a pattern and you bought the threads? Must admit I always preferred to work a pattern and I would buy the threads. I could change it then! If it's DMC what colours are you missing??Enjoy finishing it.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourselves. Stay safe. God bless.

ReplyDeleteI hope you really are better soon. Plenty of fresh air and sunshine can't do any harm. Your little cross stitch picture is lovely. Stay safe xx Jo #13
ReplyDeleteOh missus, you do more of that, sun sitting and gentle stitching...my brother in law is an ER doctor in the states and he’s talked about it being a boomerang virus from the get go, so take it very very easy please! The stitching looks marvellous, it will one day occur to you that it was totally worth it! I quite like the outlining, it always feels like a final flourish.
ReplyDeleteAmazing cross stitch, nearly there...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit BJ#20
Your cross stitch will be beautiful, that outlining is such a pain, I sympathise x Angela #24
ReplyDeleteSorry you've felt poorly but hope you feel better after chilling in the sun. Take time to be good to yourself.Beautiful cross stitch! Stay safe, stay well, Happy WOYWW Cindy #12
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch picture is so charming, Christine, and so detailed too! Beautiful. I have been working on a Hebrew alphabet sampler for... well, dare I admit it? About 25 years!!! I think it's almost my oldest UFO. I really should get it finished! I've done plenty of other cross stitch pieces in between, though! I rather enjoy the outlining - great sense of satisfaction as it adds definition to the piece.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you've had a return of the sore throat. Do take it easy! I hope you will both be fully recovered soon, and I'm glad PJ didn't get such a bad dose of it.
Thank you for your visit. When you said you couldn't get past the banana curry, I wasn't sure if it was because it was just a step toooo far, or whether you were so gobsmacked with its awesomeness lol! If the former, then believe me, it is surprisingly good! Very nutritious, too! If you can't get to a Co-op, all their food magazines are available online, with loads of back copies too. Definitely worth a visit.
Take care of yourselves and try and rest as much as possible!
God bless and happy WOYWW,

Cross stitch, sunshine and chicken watching while you sit in the garden recuperating sounds pretty good. I hope your sore throat improves and I think your cross stitch is lovely.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.

I'm so sorry to hear you are still having symptoms, I hope you start feeling much better very soon. I love the cross-stitch, it's a beautiful image and it must have been very peaceful and relaxing stitching in the garden. I would haul my sewing machine out there if I could!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week,
Hugs, Diana x #16
Sorry to hear that your symptoms have come back again - take it easy and get well soon I pray. Your cross stitch is stunning. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#3)
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is lovely. I used to embroider when my daughters were little but I have not done so in a long time. Moving from Georgia to Nashville I found some brand new cross stitch sets in a chest. I brought them to Nashville and may attempt to start them. By now even though they are new, they are vintage! I do hope that with the spring and warmer air you’ll get better soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you're poorly again, Christine, and I hope it's just ordinary flu and not a recurrence of corona virus - you've been through enough already! I do hope you feel better soon. I love your cross stitch piece, and I am sure that you will soon get this particular UFO finished!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
